Wyrmshadow's Battleships

funny thing about british naval architecture, the light cruisers look more massive/powerful/modern than the heavy cruisers.... so I always mistook one for the other.

Make no mistake though, the decks weren't just wood. Actually, the real deck underneath was steel and armor plating. Having a non-slip surface and visual appeal are possible reasons for the use of wood on top of the metal.

They could have always painted the entire ship red white and blue if they wanted some great visual appeal lol..

This is the current manifestation of my HMS Belfast CL.

I spent most of last night doing the hull before I collapsed and slept for nearly the entire day. It's now about an hour before work so hopefully I can do a few things like make the diagonals. I know right now it doesn't look like much, just 27 boxes on a hull, but it will soon.

It's actually a treat to see the intermediate steps and thereby watch the artist at work!

If you like that..

It's 2:40 am and I finished the model.

Ha-ha! We're going to have so many options once Wyrmshadow releases all these new units... Unless of course the influx of new units causes the intrnet to crash and the world blow up.

It's my thread and I can ressurect it if I have something appropriate.

You know you can get me with IJN ships all the tíme, love these monsters.

Absolutely huge ships. Very nice detail, as always. Are those really small turrets clustered around medium turrets around the superstructure?
