Yamato - NavalWar

France is almost dead. Open broadcast to America suggests focus on Japan, while India and Russia are busy with each other leaving America alone. Paris likely to fall next turn and we rather see the rest of French island in American hands than Japanese.

Then why is the English Leader saying that you 'liberated' one of their cities?

This is very embarrassing, I did some investigation among my old files and I found that the annoying Jap, after all, is right... In the distant turn 6, India apparently infringed the house rule (is liberating a city the same as gifting a city? If so, it was an infringement). The insignificant and stupid city of Chehalis was conquered and liberated to the English, as per below screenshots:

Why it did happen?? I don't remember at all, but for sure the mediocre Indian Commander, who is still learning the Alphabet Tech, forgot this house rule....So, what will be the consequence/punishment?? Will I have the right for a lawyer?

**message to the Russian**: India is very flattered by the Russian compliments about India's power and about the description of the Indian situation. But these Russians are very hard to understand... On one hand, they send an invitation for a party and even offer the Vodka... On the other hand, they are sending messages and appeals to everybody as if they are afraid of receiving the guests... Please, Mr. Russian, make a decision. Shall we go to the party or shall we stay at home?? We are planning to bring curry (you may like it).

Concerning America, the Russian gentleman is not quite right about his statements... India is a very good friend of America... India is offering America an excellent and cheap opportunity to expand its territory and India will not step in if the Americans decide to go for the grab... India is leaving all the Russian lands for America to take. And in an all war scenario it's better to have a weak neighbor (the closest one), rather than a strong one...

**message to America**: Kindly excuse the incident this turn... a stealth bomber clashed with an old fighter, but without casualties fortunately (not very stealth this bomber...).

India is also keen to strength future collaboration with the Americans.

In the distant turn 6, India did infringed the house rule.
So India is officially a cheater... :p

That fact (that no one seemed to notice) probably did have very little effect on the game. However, it is technically a breach of the house rules...

So... what to do? Mild punishment? Including in the rules that everyone can give ONE city to AI? Any ideas on the appropriate action to follow?

Well, in the defense of my case, I would say that everyone could LIBERATE ONE city to the AI.

Liberating is very different from giving or gifting. India can conquer Moscow and gifting it to the English, but CANNOT liberate it to the English....

I suggest siding with the reason and forgiving this distant incident altogether. Any gifts now will have more effects than during the forgotten turn 6. Imagine Host setting up the game with that island in British hands from the very beginning.

My vote would be for this as well. It was long ago, unintentional, and fairly inconsequential vs if they had just razed the city instead.

America is doing the best it can but admits it screwed up two recent crucial turns in trying to help France. Lessons learned.

But it is hoped its recent tech advances will help.

But America notes that Japan is a wily combatant.

Don't really disagree.

But as a matter of principle, perhaps India should pay fines to England in recompense.

Ok. I'm fine and I think is fair. But just for the record, this event happened during turn 5. It could be seen (and it can still be seen) in the event log by all the players.

I can just stress that I had no intention at all of breaking a house rule (and I'm still not sure that I've broken it). it was totally unintentionally from my part. It's just funny that it is being discussed more than 60 turns later...:)

Back to the game... India is impressed by the fall of Paris :wow:. India would imagine that with the help of America, Paris would resist the Japanese onslaught... The Japanese is in fact a wily and cunning opponent...

Well, this turn India has given a little hand to the French-American coalition... India hopes that America will appreciate this gesture of Indian goodwill...

One of the biggest mysteries in this game was the AI behavior. Any time I was trying to bribe China and England to declare on Japan -- they had enough on their hands! But they were not at war with any one. In fact I believe I am the only civ in the entire game who has been ever attacked by AI.

Encripted message to USA:

Dear Sir,

France is almost dead. I would like to ask you if you want to keep fighting with the underdog or face the real menace of this small world. I know very well that the Giant's next target will be Japan. And, once Russia and Japan are just scraps, we will face his focus on you.

You can wait for that to happen... but you probably will not be a match for his economical power once he has subdued Russia and Japan... or you can join the fight, taking offensive action against India. What will it be?

I would like to point out that all the Japanese forces did was to retaliate on your offensive moves. If you cease your offensive actions we will also cease ours.

If you wish you can have the remaining French territories, it is fine by me, my real concern lies elsewhere.

Emperor of Japan
Luthor-san

One final request: please, under no circumstance, let this letter fall into Indian hands!

(After employing the brightest Indian minds, finally the Japanese message has been decoded)

But America notes that Japan is a wily combatant.

**Open message to the Jap (doesn't need to be decoded)**

It is.. it is... quite true... So, now is the time of India being flattered by the Japanese... Thank you very much, but I think my India does not deserves such merit... The poor "underdog" Japanese has just conquered an entire Island for himself after fighting a strong French-American coalition and he calls himself "underdog"... poor little one.. using the disguise of underdog and victim to try to divert all the attention to my India... clever and skillful my Japanese neighbor...

yes... but India took good note that just after the big Indian disaster at Tianshi , the clever Japanese took advantage of the situation and decided to built a new irritating city just in the most Eastern tile of his annoying island, just at direct sight of my India... and why?? Which purpose??... humm... not for any good deed for sure.. That could not be tolerated... India had been too nice lately to the Japanese... not disturbing him at all during a large period of time... allowing him to go in his crusade against the French whilst India was entertained with the resilient Russian best enemy-friend... and then this clamorous act of pure provocation... Well, no annoying city anymore... And if the Jap wants to visit our beautiful land, a warm welcome will be granted...

**message to America**

Be careful America... India is not the only civ to have two islands... with so much territory at his disposal, this wily Japanese will grow stronger than America with time... America should also think on getting a second island, and India is willing to help and to prove its good intentions.

**message to the resilient Russian friend**

So... new toy... Jet fighters.... Let's observe how Russia will perform in the air combats... I'll take good note of the engagements...:scan:

America has decided to ignore Japanese overtures.

It believes its latest technological advance in naval warfare will help speed extensive Japanese navy to the deep as well as frustrate Japanese food production.

India has more production than Japan and Russia together... and is stilling trying to pretend not to be top dog #1? :shake:
