Yenemus' City List Collection

Here's an organized collection of some of the city lists I've made for people to use in their mods, etc. Except frequent updates and feel free to make requests.

The collection includes modern nations as well as both historic and fictional empires. The lists are generally limited to 30 cities, as I can't imagine needing to build any more than that in a normal game.

If this is in the wrong section, could somebody please move it for me, thanks.

The list is organized alphabetically. The numbers in square brackets show the years when the civilization existed. Fictional civilizations are in red.

What about Central asia with Samarkand and Bukhara at the top ? Maybe even another name for the civ encompassing the area.

Hmmm, I think your talking about the Sogdian Empire, or 'Sogdiana'. They were like a pre-Persian civ in Iran. I guess I could make a list for them, though they're a bit short on cities... If you were talking about a different civilization, please let me know.

Sorry for double posting, but I was just wondering....

Do players prefer city names with foreign characters included or without?

Take, for example, Dąbrowa Górnicza in Poland. Would you rather it spelt 'Dąbrowa Górnicza' or 'Dabrowa Gornicza'?

I wouldn't do it, because I don't like the fact that you have to go to the symbols page every 30 seconds. But maybe you're not as lazy as me, so I don't really care. Seeing the world's culture would be nice, but I'm not sure if the game even has text for those symbols!

Sorry for replying so late, I've been a bit busy with real life.

Anyway, Barbarian Empire done. Or you could use the Ogre Empire list if you were looking for something more foreign-sounding.

Very nice lists! Just one question: shouldn't Canberra, not Sydney, be the capital of Australia? :mischief:

Gaius Octavius, I chose Sydney because: it is more important historically (it was the site of the first European colony in Australia), it was the centre of power in Australia for a long time, it is generally more famous than Canberra and because it is the most populous city in Australia.
But its not a major change, you can rearrange Sydney and Canberra according to personal preference. And thanks for the feedback! =)

It's cool for Yene to have made a list of Hittite cities but not all of the names are quite accurate. For whatever reason, the Hittites used the Assyrians' "" cuneiform syllables to represent /s/, and not /ʃ/, so all those "sh"s are out of place.

Re post necromancy:
I'd rather keep the lists where they are and linked for those looking for accurate city lists. They're pretty hard to come by for some of these cultures.
