Not really a bug, but a grammatical error. If you construct an item that begins with a vowel or is in the plural, it still calls it 'a' whatever it was.

Other things I've noticed (apologies for totally failing to adhere to the bug report policy, but I did at least glance down the subject headings):

My ancient (four years old) PC is probably too slow to play CIV 4 properly but it specialises in getting stuck when showing a Wonder construction scene.

I can fortify units with 'F' even if the crossed swords icon isn't shown. (Or alternatively - the crossed swords icon sometimes isn't shown even when you can fortify a unit).

Sometimes it says 'You have built xx in London' but sometimes it can't be bothered to name the city and it isn't always clear which one it is 'You have built xx in this city'.

Is the default name for a leader really supposed to be DFSKLJ664545 or similar?

For some reason Civ 4 takes the default name of your leader to be the 'name' given to your computer when it is first set up. In your case it is simply a string of letters and numbers since for whatever reason it was never given a descriptive name. I've no idea why someone decided to do this, but I regard it as an exceptionally stupid decision since some people call their computer "X's computer" where X is their name, and this can lead to their real life name being displayed in multiplayer. Civ 4 has no buisness accessing this information and this really ought to have been altered long ago.

All you have to do is add your ingame alias name in the ini file. There's two places where you can do this, one's for Pitboss and there's another one for standard games. Once it's enetered, the game will always use that.

I have the same problem. Any way to turn off the animation?

Military units get the fortify button and fortify using the F key. Non-military units get the sleep button, indicated with a bunch of Zs, but still use the F key for this function.
