Your most common recurring dream

Yup! :)
BTW, I've never had the "falling out teeth"-dream though. Is he normally scary or just weird and you realize that you're dreaming?

I have had it. I have read it is based on a fear that you are unattractive. They are pretty bad. First one is loose, and you wiggle it, and play with it, and it pops out. Then, things get bad, and you are swirling many loose teeth in your mouth, or trying to put them back in their sockets.

The sex with a family member thing, I won't go into detail -- but it's common in teens (typically) as one matures. I think I heard like 70-80% of those sexually maturing dream of family members. The reason is, people aren't mature enough to have had close relationships with people by that age (generally speaking). Usually your first real love is after this point, so the next best thing is a sibling, or a cousin, or whatever. Don't take those dreams as something perverted or incestual. I'll stop there.

It's really scary actually... I try to put them back in but they won't stay. I get more tense as the dream continues (which is bad considering the stress that caused the dream in the first place), and so it can become nightmare-like, where I wake up in a sweat and heart pounding. Sounds funny, I agree, but it's not a fun dream to have.

Exactly. You described it better than I, thank you.

So many wasted money spent on countless shrinks...:shake:
And a little OT: The chance that your future wife resembles your mother by her looks and personality is very high.

I have this dream of when i was like 2 years old, i still couldn't stand on my two feet, and there was this big door, i pushed the door and there was this big giant dragon and for some reason it was very scary... I had that dream a couple of times untill i was like 15, of course when i got older though i was like 'meh'.

I hope you are joking. I think almost everybody has incestuous dreams. They are disturbing, and often frustrating, because they ruin something good, buy having a family member suddenly come in and interfere with what was fun with a stranger.

I personally think it has a lot to do with how family pressure can keep someone from realizing sexual freedom. You know, "what would mom think if she caught me doing something like I saw in that porno?"

I'm always getting chased by movie monsters in my dreams. Werewolves from Underworld, the Cloverfield monster, the thing from Jeepers Creepers, and the woman from Grudge to name a few. I've been also chased by a tank, Darth Vader and attacked by Star Wars robots and these giant snakes and all sorts of strange things.

I assimilate pop culture too easily.

Oh I forgot, more than anything, I dream I can fly and float. At least twice a week I have these dreams. I remember the first one started when I was in seventh grade.

Who knows if I'm joking or not...:mischief:
Wanna hear something unconventional? As long as those dreams keep being dreams, they're not disturbing at all. Our family members of the opposite sex are the closest males/females throughout our whole childhood and adolescence. That your mind takes interest in them and even combines them with your blooming sexuality when you're getting older is something on which nobody should be ashamed of.

It wasn't just opposite, it was/is also my brother sometimes. I certainly did not wake up afraid I was gay.

Uhhmm...that's one thing I don't wanna dream about. :scared:
And it takes a lot of courage to say such a thing, I think.

Not for me... :P I'm 100% straight and know it, so its no big deal.

It's like if you dream of being torn apart and eaten by sharks, doesn't mean you want it to happen.

Another one I have is climbing down a ladder or jumping off a step or something of the sort, and snapping awake when I would hit the ground in the dream.

True; from a neurological perspective dreams are just random creations by your mind with what it has, there's no inside conspiracy by your mind to show you what you really feel or any of that junk.

(Conspiracy, Neo? ;))

Sort of on topic: I often wake up completely paralyzed, it's always one very unpleasant minute while my body wakes up. I heard it's because there is a function of your brain that stuns your body so that you don't actually move in your bed during REM or active dreaming phases. Apparently, my stunning overstays its welcome when I wake up in the middle of a dream. Maybe that theory is just bullcrap though. Sometimes I sort of moan and try to get my girlfriend to help me turn because I have my face stuck in the pillow, or just because of the fact that I can't move, I want to move.. now!

That happens to me too. It's never lasted longer then a minute. Its really annoying I try to move my legs or something or open my eyes but I can't even though I'm awake. Frustrating stuff it's been happening more frequently these days too I never had it before until recently.

I would say that in about 70% of my dreams, I am being chased. No matter how hard I try to go faster, I always end up running really slowly.

The one time I remember having the same dream twice was a long time ago where I dreamed I was outside my house being chased by the mysterious being wrapped in christmas lights from the end of Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" music video.

I had one of my favorites last night. Flying and swimming at the beach with friends. I could sort of glide and increase altitude by using scuba-fins and my boogie-board.

I became interested in my dreams and eliminated nightmares a long time ago. Now I go lucid pretty often. I was almost lucid last night, because I remember much of it very clearly.
