Yes, they are German, they sing in German, and they are very popular around the world. Their style is generally Industrial Metal (a sub-genre of Industrial that is very similar to Metal) though some albums/songs are more Industrial or Metallic than others. They're guite good imho.

I just heard Reise, Reise (the album) properly with headphones for the first time today (only heard it in the background with lousy speakers before) and I gotta admit, these guys get better and better as time goes by. Every album of theirs is considerably better than the previous one.
