Update 0 – 2000 B.C.
The Mediteranean
A new civilization rises on the long pirate frequented Isle of Sicily. Led by it’s widely praised king Jeal for uniting the disparate Siclilian tribes he is now look to establish a commercial empire. Their population is exploding and new villages are frequently popping up across the landscape, and unlike cities of the past staying there. But there is reason for fear, for they face a more immediate rival in Tunis. The Tunisians are a Pheonician people, established at the city of Tunis on the tip of Africa. They are ruled by their warlike Queen Verin and also seek to establish a large trading prescense on the Great Sea. A more distant threat of Tune, Etrusca, rests in the Northern Italian penninsula. They are consolidating their power and were considered by many Greek observers to be soon the only Italian power. This may be stopped however, by the influx of the so called ‘’Latins’’ into Central Italy. They are yet to form any cities however.
After a long and terrible Greek war, the Greek city of Corinth emerges as Greece’s leading power. They are the leading power in Greece and none dare to challenge their might…That is, but the Mycenaeans to the north and the powerful and strongly cultured Minoans to the south. There are also shattered remains of old greek power in the north of the archipelogo. The Minoans are a peacefuly people, very cultured and preocupied with their grand sport of bull hopping. The Mycenaeans though, are much more warlike and have their eye on your apple of a civilization… Fear the barbarian hordes!
To the direct south of them lies an already ancient nation of Egypt, Lower Egypt to be precise. Located on the mouth of Nile River to the Mediteranean Egypt has emerged from a recently disastrous civil war crippling it’s formerly might empire. Of all the minor dynastic nations that rose up, all the revolutions have been quelled but one. Yet again Upper Egypt has become a separate power, allying occasionally with the people of Kush and flaunting their independence to the Pharoh. Your people long for them to be stomped into the ground, and doing so would greatly please them. A greater threat yet though, lies with the fiercely independent Kushians to your south. They seek to crush Egypt and take the Nile as their own river. Obviousely, war in this region is on a tipping point. Which power will emerge?
Near East
Out of the ruins emerges a new civilization from ‘’Between the Rivers’’ of Euphrates and Tigris. The Albonians, ruled over by the defense minded King Albon, fear greatly for their safety. For while they are primed to become a strong and wealthy civilization, they are bordered to the south by the warlike and reputedly vicious Assyrian Empire. You must assume a defensive position. If anyone can defeat the Assyrians it is likely to be the Albonian nation. They must muster their arms and defend themselves. Great troubles lie ahead. A possible ally of the Albonians, the Phoenicians are master of trade and the sea, and a possible raider may find their defense extremely lacking…
The Americas
A powerful new civilization, somewhat unstabled ruled by their lord Juma. The nation arose out of a need to protect themselves from the rampant and powerful Caribe tribers to their East and West. The Caribe are a warlike people, yet can be negotiated with. Their have been some minor skirmishes in the land of ‘’Seminola’’ (Florida. Does anyone have an actual Native American name for it?), an open and mostly unclaimed frontier. But a greater and stronger long term threat to the Cuban people are the mighty Olmecs, recently risen in Mexico 50 years ago. They seek to solidify their hold on Central America and become the master of several larger Caribean islands.
Other Nations
The Nabatean tribe is colonizing the tip of Ethiopia and Arabia, the South Americans are getting ahold of the Pacific coast and the warlike Germanics continue to terrorize their European neighbors with their bronze weaponry.
