ZWK -another game

I loaded Tim's savegame and chose the allies and it worked just fine. The first unit to flash for orders was a captial ship in the north sea, and all the other units still had movement values. Are you sure you did all the PBEM procedures right?

On a completely different subject, I thought I'd mention that looking at your screen it's obvious you forgot to Ctrl-N last turn, since a whole bunch of units are stuck off of roads with GoTo orders on their shields.

The Minor Allied Player is checking the Axis players turn? I know it may just have been to check the game out, but generally you find someone not involved in the game to do that. Plus, does that mean that the Axis player doesn't have a password in the game?

IMHO, everyone should have a password. It's just normal protocol to do so. I can't tell you how many games I've seen ruinined because someone just took a little 'peek' at someone else's game.

Whoa whoa, hold the phone. I loaded Tim's file and started upt the allied turn, not Axis.

BTW SirDunco, Thought I'd tell you from having played the Allies that you can't attack the Minor Axis outright if your senate made peace with them. The only way to do it is to speak to my AI ambassador and he will demand that you reopen conflict with them. This way you won't have a scandal and anarchy.

Yop73 seems to be active in other games. His last post was a turn on a Colonies game yesterday. I wondered if he didn't see your turn/file posted, so I tried to send a PM yesterday and his box was full, so I sent him an e-mail. Just in case he doesn't read his e-mail either  I put that post on the thread today hoping he would see it.

I think it's my fault. :( I'm apparently the PBEM kiss of death. Both of the games I've joined have come to a dead halt. I'm so depressed.

Uhm, something's wrong with the file. In all my cities terrain squares are making way more food than they're supposed to. My rules file is correct, and this is not occuring when I "load" the .net file, but when I undergo the usual PBEM procedure to get "load saved multiplayer game", this occurs. I don't know how it could be. I don't think the rules file on another player's computer can affect my turn, can it?

Did someone happen to click on the 2x production or something like that on the multiplayer options?

I'm sure I didn't; I checked. For that matter, does 2x production include food?

Well then yes, that must have been it, but I didn't think someone else's setting would affect my turn since my 2x toggle is off.

I recall reading in one of the other PBEM Game threads that the 2x settings stuff does get put into the save file so if someone before you toggled it on (Yop?), it would have applied to your production turn as you loaded up the game. Did you look at the Game/Multiplayer options menu once you loaded the game up?

Can you tell from the levels in your food box/sheild box whether or not it was in effect when your cities were processed? (perhaps compare to your previous turn to see how many were added)

If the x2 production was checked, it will affect the players turn who starts after it was checked. We had this same issue in the Yet another Game (#3), when sas was playing around with the settings. The previous player has to open their save, uncheck the boxes and re-save and post it. Otherwise, the double production will go through the turn before you can turn it off yourself. Whoever was before Darius (Yop?) can check his game and see if double production was on at the start of his turn. If so, the turn before that needs to be redo also. Until the first save that has the option turned on in it is redone.

Hopefully it's only one save back.

I have to assume it was Yop, because from ZWK experience Willem wouldn't have done it and furthermore he would have noticed if someone before him had.

I would have thought that too, but it looks like it starts with the save Yop had to use for his turn, so that means it was saved on Willems turn that way. So, Willem needs to redo his posted file with the option unchecked and then Yop needs to redo his turn from scratch.

I checked my old save, and indeed the double production was on there. In the save I downloaded it was off, so it must have happened in my turn. I can't remember messing with the mulitplayer options though :S Anyway, it only affected Yop and Darius, since production is done in the beginning of a turn (when the option couldn't have been set to double production). I'm very sorry this happened...costs a lot of time again.

Honestly, people, is Lazyciv just a big prank? I've followed the instructions to the letter and it's never, ever, ever worked.

Anyhow, here's my turn, but half my cities lost their production because they decided they wanted Modern Utilities.
