Although it was anticipated (or wishful thinking? ;) ) because CivBE will be released for Linux and there was a promotional SteamOS picture with Civ5, there now is more conclusive proof that Civ5 may actually be coming to Linux: Linux-versions have been added to the Steamdb.

Now, not everything that is added to the Steamdb is an actual thing, but often it is.

Link to Steamdb (scroll down to changed depots, or just look at the depots)

To be clear: This isn't 100% proof Civ5 will be coming to Linux, just a strong indication.

I am very happy about this! I finally ditched windows some months ago, so soon I will be able to play a bit of Civ 5 again. It will be probably released together with the Steam Machines... btw, when are they coming out?

That would be wonderful! Although wine makes it possible to play civ5, I'm getting tired of chopped sound, random crashes and overall slowness which bars me from playing on large maps.
