Yeah, that's the guy. The craziest thing I have come across thus far is his 33-chapter long attempt in book 1 to make the native Latins of Latium into Greeks. His conclusion? Apparently it was not good enough that Aeneas is the tragihero of Troy, but apparently the Latins he initially fought/allied himself to were actually descendants of some awesome soldiers who went on a conquering spree with Heracles that saw all of Italy organized Greek-like. Trouble was that these folk eventually went native, but good ol Aeneas brought them back onto the proper path.
