Unfortunately I am losing interest in Civ IV (God, is that really possible?-- My wife's prayers are being answered!) I have no regrets, but stupid stuff like time victories or Vanilla space victories, or map cheese just don't sit right with me.

And I f-ing hate deity, because it really relies on what I now introduce as the concept of "War Cheese!". Kill, kill, kill the stupid AI, then dominate. I find so many comments on the forums accusing cheese of this sort or that sort that is not militaristic, but when it comes to the testosterone driven concept of imperialism via war as a means to victory, this seems to be revered (even though it could be viewed as cheese too!). It is exploitative against inept AI programming. But hey, I don't want to play multi-player!

Having won a gold medal in BOTM with Biology/vassal cheese and hearing Sossos's comments that XOTM are lame too, makes me feel like the competition I've enjoyed across the Civ IV game is lame

Leeching techs better. In war, you and the AI got a war value. Each war success increases your value. Other factors like soldier count (powers) enters in the formula and that is where war success favors the human player. With AggAI, if you endanger an AI city (just one is sufficient) with a sole unit, their war value is diminished to a third that it was.

Thus, if you got x value and the AI x value too AND you endanger their city, thus you got a remainder of 2x/3, which can be extorted in form of gold, techs or whatever you want.

Ahh damn so it wouldn't make what I like to do any easier. So it makes leaching techs from peace easier? Or is that the same as capping?

So once you get rolling capping AI takes less effort? Or just suing for peace?

How does Aggressive AI give the AI more war success? Do they take losses harder?

I tried 6-7 times. Even slowed GPP production to have better chance of getting GE. But got one only with Fusion.

Don't worry about luck. Having 37% to get GE is great. If you didn't get it next turn, you'd be unlucky. You still have way to go to Railroad. Also, if you didn't get it now, you could have slowed GPP a bit until IW, switch to Pacifism and generate one. My greatest mistake in the game was that I didn't see how important early IW, and consequently Steel, is. I accumulated money to burn it in Oxford which I placed in Peresepolis. I should have researched Steel with part of that money at lower efficiency and build IW in Amsterdam. With my game and better judgement, 1800AD was possible. With better and earlier warring, even earlier. I don't blame luck.
