I did notice that in Japan though, lots of emphasis on grammar. English --> Japanese is a lot easier, I imagine, since Japanese has probably the least amount of sounds; it makes it the easiest language to speak, but kanji makes it maybe the second hardest to read.
In my business class this year I have 3 Japanese exchange students. They speak English really well for only knowing it 2-7 years. My question though is why are L's so hard to pronounce? That seems like it should be taught in those years the same way English learn how to pronounce Ra re ri ru ro in Japanese.
