YnAMP - Larger Map, TSL, Continents++ (beta) 1.0.7

New map sizes, Continents++ script and TSL Greatest Earth Map

Playable:
  • Add Massive (128x80) map size (use preferably with the new Continents++ script or the Random Continents mod)
  • Add Greatest Earth Map by djvandyke with TSL (random elevation and rivers)
  • Add Continents++ Map script (edited version of Continent Plus, less blocky and scale better with map sizes)
Experimental:
  • Add Giant (180x94) and Ludicrous (230x116) map sizes (for testing only, graphical glitch)
  • Add Giant Earth Map (random elevation and rivers, for testing only, graphical glitch)
  • Allow up to 40 players on Massive, Giant and Ludicrous map sizes (you'll need to manually select all Leaders and Civilizations if you don't have enough to prevent duplicates, else the game won't load)

download and extract directly in your "%localappdata%\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VII\Mods" folder (without creating an additional folder, see tree below)

To uninstall

delete the "ynamp" folder created on extraction

Known issues

  • Graphical glitch on map sizes larger than 128 (Giant, Ludicrous), all tiles where x > 127 are white (no texture)
  • With the Continents++ script, in some cases you or the AI will be able to reach distant land islands before the exploration age
  • There is no way to place rivers or set elevation with the current methods available to mods, those are randomly generated

Debugging

If you want to help debugging the maps, there are two tools:

1/ Show debug info on the plot tooltip​

Open the "AppOptions.txt" file in the "\AppData\Local\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VII" folder (on Windows)

find the line

;Shows debug information about plots in tooltips.
;ShowDebugTooltips 0

and set it to

ShowDebugTooltips 1
(don't forget to remove the semi-colon at the beginning)

The plot's position will be shown on the tooltip, as well as the "homeland" or "distant land" tag

2/ Reveal the map

- Enable the console (this may disable Steam's achievements), see this tutorial
- the button is on the map's section of the debug menu in the console

Latest reviews

Broken as of game version 1.3.0. Causes a "content validation" error.
Unable to cross rivers on the TSL map.

Also, hope to have TSL rivers in the future.

I play civ since part one (DOS) and this mod is the most important one since..... i dont remember :-D

I got a Problem since Patch 1.2.4
The navigable rivers are missing the feature navigable river and i cant move units on them.

They changed something in context with them? I hope it makes modding them possible.
Civ isn't Civ without YnAMP and TSL. Many thanks for all your work!
Has not worked for over 2 months, crashes on launch- if no crash, it will generate with 0 resources. unusable currently.

Thanks a lot for your amazing maps, but it seems that ynamp's resource generation script does not work since last civ 7 update 1.2.2. Hoping you can fix it and upload it to the workshop!
can you add it to the steam workshop? ynamp is broken since last civ 7 update 1.2.2. even old version like 1.0.1 are not working either. thanks!

I love this map, I've been playing it non-stop !
Hi YnAMP, i love your maps but on the Greatest Earth Map i miss some more tropical yields and especially tropical mountains. The is not a single one.
