YnAMP - Larger Map, TSL, Continents++ (beta) 1.0.3

New map sizes, Continents++ script and TSL Greatest Earth Map

1739257782866.jpeg

Playable:
  • Unlock Large and Huge sizes
  • Add Massive (128x80) map size (use preferably with the new Continents++ script)
  • Add Greatest Earth Map by djvandyke with TSL (landmasses shapes and mountains only, must be loaded with "Custom Huge for Greatest Earth (104x64)" size selected)
  • Add Continents++ Map script (edited version of Continent Plus, less blocky and scale better with map sizes)
Experimental:
  • Add Giant (180x94) and Ludicrous (230x116) map sizes (for testing only, graphical glitch, not playable)
  • Add Giant Earth Map (landmasses shape only, must be loaded with Giant Size selected, not playable)
Released as a Mod, it doesn't replace the game's files

Installation

extract directly in your "%localappdata%\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VII\Mods" folder (without creating an additional folder, see tree below)

MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Civilization VII/Mods
Linux: ~/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization VII/Mods/
Steam Deck: ~/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization VII/Mods/

To uninstall

delete the "ynamp" folder created on extraction

Known issues

  • Graphical glitch on map sizes larger than 128 (Giant, Ludicrous), all tiles where x > 127 are white (no texture)
  • With the Continents++ script, in some cases you or the AI will be able to reach distant land islands before the exploration age
  • When one civ (from a custom mod, or from new DLC before this mod updates) doesn't have a TSL defined, all civs will be randomly placed

Debugging

If you want to help debugging the maps, there are two tools:

1/ Show debug info on the plot tooltip

Open the "AppOptions.txt" file in the "\AppData\Local\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VII" folder (on Windows)

find the line
Code:
;Shows debug information about plots in tooltips.
;ShowDebugTooltips 0

and set it to
Code:
;Shows debug information about plots in tooltips.
ShowDebugTooltips 1
(don't forget to remove the semi-colon at the beginning)

The plot's position will be shown on the tooltip, as well as the "homeland" or "distant land" tag

2/ Reveal the map

- Enable the console (this may disable Steam's achievements), see this tutorial
- the button is on the map's section of the debug menu in the console

Indispensable
On the new patch I'm unable to use jnr's old files in addition to yours which was my old way of uncapping from 8 players. I am able to get the config menu to have 10 slots but only 8 spawn. Do you have any idea what else needs to be changed to allow 10 to spawn? Thanks for your great mod! I miss playing with 15ish players like I used to in civ 5/6

set MaxPlayers AND DefaultPlayers to the value you want to use in the "Mods\ynamp\modules\config\config.xml" file. For value > number of available civs you need to manually set all civilizations (with some duplicates) in the advanced setup screen, and their maybe issue in game with more than 8 civs because of the available numbers of religion
On the TSL earth map, I am placed in north america to start no matter what leader or civ i choose. Any ideas what im doing wrong. Thanks!
I believe my favorite mod through at least three games now. I love big maps.
Man I was looooving this mod!! Then the patch yesterday broke it on my steam deck only. Tried to rebuild the Civ 7 install. I’ve removed everything from the previous folder, redownloaded, same content failure :( if I remove the mod it does work.

Linux only sadly.
amazing. played carthago ang huge volcano blocks navigation in mediterean sea below sicily

natural wonder are still randomly placed at that time
An absolutely amazing mod from an amazing Civ modder! One thing I've noticed on my end since version 1.00 though is when trying to start games I now get the error "content configuration validation failed". Still happening after testing 1.01. On Steam Deck btw, so linux install which could be the reason, haven't tested on my windows PC yet.
Crucial for larger games.
Hi - love the maps of course!
My only feed back on the earth huge version. Spawn locations with 10 on SP doesn't work only 8 ever spawn. Of which generally 6-7 are close by on the middle of the map and 1-2 on the left hand side. Is there anyway to 'adjust' where they spwan?

Thanks
I started in Rome with spices as resources. But if I work the tile and the spice gets placed in resource slot, I see "this resource is available in the distant land in exploration age" tooltip.
