Looks like lotsa reading... anyone wanna tell me simply what to do and where? :)

Me be lazy.
kill persia ;)

edit: actually, tex's log is all you really need to read. the goal is persia and hang on to our eastern cities till we're ready to expand out there.

Ok. I think I'll do it tomorrow, I just got home today and I'm a little tired.

1. We aren't researching anymore. Strictly stealing our techs.
2. I think Tex has you set up for an assault on Persia. Might want to read his war plan.

Edit - serious cross post.

Ok, wish me luck and hope that I don't mess this as badly as some SG's I almost have.

Playing now.

So far happened :D:

550AD [Preturn]: Let's see how we are doing... Looks like a nice setup, Tex. :)

Declare war on Persia. Bombard the spear on a mountain near Byzantium.
Elite GS kills horseman, but is redlined.
Veteran MID kills 2-hp spear on mountain and becomes elite.
Ditto.

Capture Persian treb near Neapolis.
Elite GS kills vet horse unscratched, and we get a leader! :D
Build army, hoping to get another leader for the FP in Persepolis. Load a Vet GS into the army, I think the 3 moves will make it powerful.

Elite GS kills vet spear unscratched near Hispalis.
Elite GS kills reg spear near Hispalis, -3hp.

Reinforce Eridu with a vet GS.

Move the SoD of Persepolis to the hill in Persia.

IBT: Lose 1 MID, but kill 2 Persian horses.

Caesar would be interested in an alliance against Babylon, no way.

Alesia court > MID.
Pisae temple > pike.

560AD [1]: This can't be true! :wow: Elite GS kills 1-hp horse, and guess what happens? We get another leader! The RNG is shining on me!

I think I will leave this one for rushing the FP in Persepolis. What do you guys think?

Great start Ankka - The FP in Persepolis would be an excellent choice to the leader - Reminder to use only veterans (and the Army) for attacks until we take Persepolis and can use the GL - Is that our 2nd Army? - If so, we might want to consider using the current GL for another Army and then we could build the Pentagon. If I'm correct the current GS Army is a 4.5-3-3 and with the fourth GS added would become a 5-3.3-3. If we loaded that yet to be created army with MDI, that would be a 6-3.33-2. A five attack would probably be the dominant force throughout the rest of this game. So if we have 2 armies, building a 3rd, then building the pentagon, might be the best choice for now.

Ok... Army it shall be, let's see if I can fish one more leader for the FP then. :)

IBT: Lose 1 pike, 2 MID's and an archer, kill a horse.

Rome and Babylon sign peace.

We can build the Pentagon now. :yeah:

Entremont cathedral > pentagon.
Verulamium court > MID.
Lapurdum market > pike.

570AD [2]: Elite MID kills 1-hp archer.
Newly built GS army faces a tough reg spear in Ghulaman, loses 5hp but wins.
Elite 1-hp GS kills 1-hp horse.

Siege of Persepolis:

MID army kills vet spear, -3hp.
MID army kills vet spear, -3hp.
Vet MID kills vet spear, -3hp.
Vet MID loses to vet spear, which promotes but is only 4hp.
Vet MID loses to vet spear, which promotes but loses 2hp.
Vet MID loses to 4-hp spear.
Vet MID loses to reg spear. Gah. The RNG turned back to normal.

All that's left of our invasion force is a 6-hp army and an 1-hp vet MID. Uh- oh.

580AD [3]: GS army kills reg spear in Ghulaman.
GS army kills 2-hp spear in Ghulaman.
2-hp spear retreats army!
Elite* GS kills 2-hp spear.

Vet MID kills vet spear.

The remains of the SoD withdraw.

Hurry a MID for 108 gold.

IBT: Lose a wounded GS and a wounded MID.

Stuff built > MID. We have severe lack of attack forces on the Persian front due to bad RNG.

590AD [4]: Archer loses to archer, -1hp.
Elite GS kills vet horse, -4hp.

Siege of Ghulaman:
Vet MID kills vet horse.

Reg MID kills vet archer.

IBT: We lose 3 MID, one wins and promotes to elite.

Persia is bringing troops from somewhere through the land of the Hittites. :hmm:

MID's > MID's.

600AD [5]: Elite GS kills vet archer.

Siege of Ghulaman:
Elite MID kills spear.
Elite MID kills last spear & takes the city. at last.

Vet MID kills 3-hp horse.

Sorry, I do not feel that my amount of energy is capable of continuing this today, I'll post the save so next better player can do better than me. May the RNG be with you.

Not a bad set of turns. Just heal the armies and hit them again. Those 4 MDI losses hurt since I did not have that may build for you. The GS army may need to run and disconnect the horses.

Yes, the horses were a pain. Unluckily the GS army is still in Byzantium, healing.

Nice work on Persia, too bad about that RNG streak

If that GS Army isn't full yet, add any Elite* Gallics to it. The brand new army (if still empty) should probably get Veteran MDI loaded into it. As soon as the Pentagon is built, fill in the available slot ASAP using Elite* if possible or else veteran units. Since we can no longer build Gallics, be sure to save to add to the army.

Who's up?

There are 2 Elite*'s in the GS army IIRC, and one veteran.

The newest army is empty, there were no veteran MID's around there, only normal elites which I wouldn't like to put into an army.

I agree let those MDI's earn their place in the army by becoming Elite* - I suppose we could add a knight (movement=2) to the Gallic army, so you don't really have to hold back on using them. If we happen to have an Elite* or a Veteran around once the Pentagon is complete, add him to the army.

Preflight check: Switch Verulamium to horse and rush for 68g, then switch to MDI (due in 1T); ditto Camulo (except it costs 72g); hurry court in Bactra and Catar so they can start building units again. Rush the market in Gergovia for the same reason. Rush court in Burdigala. Down to 206g but still making +263gpt atm.

Trades: sell Hiawatha incense for 19g and 5gpt. He turns polite.; Sell Incense, Spices, Gems, and Ivory to Maya for Silks and 1gpt

Horse rush MDI in Camul, Bactra, and Verul; straight rush in Gergovia and Curovernum

Camul MDI -> MDI, Bactra MDI -> MDI; Verul MDI -> MDI; Gergovia MDI -> MDI; Cata horse -> pike; Lapurd pike -> archer; Curov MDI -> MDI

Near Pisae: elite GS kills archer; vet GS runs towards the Roman border in case any units show up.
Near Arbela: elite GS redlines but dies to horse.

Horse rush MDI as before

IBT: 2 MDI defeat 3 horses and 3 archers. They are redlined but elite. Babylon seems to be moving against us but hopefully they’re just passing thru to get to the Mayan.

T6: 660AD Assault on Pers: MDI Army kills elite spear but is down to 4hp; MDI redlines but kills elite spear; MDI dies to spear; MDI kills spear (3/4); MDI kills spear (2/4); MDI kills reg spear; MDI does not scratch ¾ spear, promoting it; MDI is not scratched killing 4/5 spear; MDI kills horse; MDI kills archer but there’s a redlined horse on top so the 4/14 attacks and kills him, taking the city and a settler + MoM + treb

Outside Pers: MDI kills redlined horse; MDI kills spear on hill
Near Neapolis: Elite GS kills Roman archer

Move 5 MDI’s and 2 army’s next to Antioch.

Sell dyes to the Greeks for 50g, Sign peace with Rome

IBT: both the spear and MDI defend against archers @ August; 1 MDI dies vs an archer @ Sardis while the Persians lose an archer and retreat a horse.

T10: 700AD Attack on Hattsusha: Trebs go 3 for 3; everyone else is waiting for reinforcements
Attack on Antioch: MDI army kills spear (12/14); GS army kills spear (13/14); GS army kills spear (10/14); MDI kills reg spear and we take the city + 3 slaves. Outside of Antioch: MDI kills archer; MDI kills archer
Attack on Sardis: MDI redlines but kills spear, MDI dies to spear (2/3); MDI kills spear; ¾ MDI kills archer, leave a redlined horse on top.

I didn’t horse-rush any MDI this turn as I’ll leave it to the next player to decide. Just so you know, Bactra, Alesia, Camul, and Verul are ready to be rushed. I have Cata building horses since we don’t have any other cities building fast units right now.

MDI in August are meant for the last push on Hattsusha

The Babylonian units do appear to be going for the Mayan which is nice.

We are huge :D

I've got it. I'll watch WW, I'll switch to Monarchy if necessary since we're religious. It appears Persia is on the ropes.

I think Caesar has found some serious :smoke: I suppose we'll see if he can be wiped off the earth.
