1.52 -- Merchant Gold

Is Merchant Gold not supposed to be relative to city size and distance? My Merchants seem always to generate the same amount of gold regardless of how far away they travel. Is the game broken or have I broken something? Where is the calculation performed to generate this gold? Can I edit it or check to see if it is broken?
 
There's a max limit for how much they can give you

Ok. Well...problem is, they always give me the same amount. Does this suggest that I'm always getting the maximum?

Do you know where these values are calculated? I'd like to go in and check to insure its working properly.
 
What amount of gold are you getting? Are you simply observing this from games, or have you been testing it in worldbuilder?

To be honest, I've been playing with the Sevo Mod so I don't know yet if the "error" is associated with the Mod or the game in general. I have noticed some changes in gold take place so I am now certain that some sort of calculation is occuring. The problem seems to be that the gold is almost always "maxing out." That is, I don't need to send my Merchant very far to achieve the maximum amount of gold.

The amount I see (I think) is 1700-and-something gold -- most of the time.

I'd like to know where the game makes the gold calculation so I can adjust it. I really want to be required to send my merchant to the opposite side of the globe.
 
The max is higher than that as 3000+ is not at all uncommon ingame, so it's not that that is causing it.
 
Time speed matters. Normal is usually 1200ish Epic 1700-2000 and Marathon 4000-5000
