1.52 Patch: Direct2Drive Patch install problem.

Ok, I'm at my wits end.

I have an Direct2Drive install of CivIV on this machine.

I have a Direct2Drive 1.54 patch (civ4_v152_patch.exe)

When I try to execute the patch, I get the following error:

"Setup has detected that version 1.00.000 of Sid Mier's Civilization IV is already installed.

This setup is not compatible with this version.

You will have to uninstall the previous version before installing this version."

Well no sh*&? Of course I have 1.00.000! That's why I'm patching!! YAAAAR!

I would like to try installing the 1.09 patch first... but I can't find it on the Direct2Drive website.

help?

I'm having the same problem.

I have D2D Civ IV installed (current version runs fine). I applied the D2D hotfix, and that install went fine. The latest D2D update to v1.52 complains that the update cannot continue because v1.00.001 is installed (I'm assuming that is the hotfix.)

I'll probably have to download the installer again, but would prefer not to waste that time if anyone has seen a solution to this issue.

I can't find the original direct2drive installation file on my computer or I would.

edit: I found my installation file, uninstalled, reinstalled and got the same error message.

I finally solved this by uninstalling, downloading my game again from direct2drive (the version currently on the site is 1.09), reinstalling again and then applying the patch.
