1.7 patch results in error -- Incompatable version of the RPC stub.

Was crusing along, winning my first Regent level game and got the 1.7 patch.

Tried to run 1.7 patch and got a "Incompatable version of RPC stub -- Error #0x80070725"

So figured I'd reinstall original -- now I can't even do that -- getting the same error.

What is an RPC Stub and how do I modify this to allow me to access the game?

I have found a solution (well not me but someone else who is truely a prince ) for the RPC Stub incompatibility issue,at least for me. I am pasting the URL where I was able to find and download a patch from
Microsoft that solved my problem. I hope that it works for you as well.
