1000 Unrealistic things about the Civ Games

39.There is universal day where everybody feels like to stop nomadic life (4000 b.c.) so they dont fall behind in techs...
40.Everybody has different religion yet they count with the fact that Jesus will be born so they are now in the b.c. era
41.Jesus (christianity) never makes it on time...
42.The catholic spanish are most of the time in buddhism...
43.If the USA wouldnt start in 4000 b.c. they would never become a superpower
44.To have Inca, Germans and Koreans on one continent next to each other is no big deal...
45.The Native Americans have an empire and its people love to study in universities
46.South Americans and Africans have all knights and the french or russians are riding jumbos...
47.At the begining evrybody is just peacefull and friendly no sign of war till they discover the evil art of bronzworking ...
48. When there is a combat two armies just start playing dice
49. U cannot choose whom u going to attack, hell, u cant even choose with whom u going to defend.
to be continued.....

50. I especially like: so u have a big army in the area? I dont care! I have a library end I own that tile becouse of its culture; also try to attack my city and my library will hit u right in face (25% culture defense bonnus)

I think we skipped a few numbers...

Yeah, he skipped the 40's...

So the current number would be 50 so...
51 Civ3: You always lose to a primitive unit like the spearman with a tank.
52 Civ4 Bts: Stone age archers can easily defeat Curassiers... (According to me. Happens all the time.)

53) Civ3: I can watch my pyramids magically change back and forth from pyramids to a giant wall.
(Stop cheating and posting more than once)

What Civ game is that from? Also, that sounds an awful lot like the Trireme of Civ IV, which can't hold any units... presumably because all potential cargo space is occupied entirely by crew.

The curragh was in Civ III and was only good for exploring - rather like work boats in Civ IV, only work boats have other functions than exploring. But then, as I recall the curraghs were extremely cheap to produce.

55) Catherine the Great is depicted as a grey-eyed Russian beauty although she was a (not so pretty) German without a drop of Russian blood in her veins.

56) Everybody automatically ceases to like ivory and furs at a certain stage of scientific discovery.

57) People sit cheering at Colosseums (not sports stadiums) throughout the game. (And anyway, Colosseum was one single bulding, in Rome; the generic term was amphiteatre. Come to think of it, Colosseum would be a very neat Great Wonder. Advantage: - 50% anger at whipping population for production. Also a rather hefty cultural bonus throughout the game)

58) Civ IV: the aqueducts look like aqueducts, not like waterworks, even in modern times.

59) There are no bath houses; apparently people never wash until the introduction of plumbing. (And I do think Plumbing should be introduced in the research tree as a scientific discovery. Advantage: + 3 :health:.)

60) The Scandinavians are called "the Vikings" and wear completely unhistorical horned helmets.

61.Civ4: I may be South Africa, but many of my units are white.

And it's still not right even with BtS. The Malinese, Ethiopian, and Zulu units now look Middle Eastern. Would it have killed them to ship with an African unit set?

62) Markets, Grocers and Banks have a set output percentage, with a seeming disregard for any external factors that may otherwise effect them.

64. A pikeman is better at attacking a rifle-carrying cavalryman than a musketman.

Good call, whether on attack or defense...

65. Cavalry/chariots/etc. can attack cities with walls just as effectively as any other unit... sure must be hard to get the horses on the siege towers.

Too expand...
66. Civ3+Civ4 - Any unit can capture a city with walls with know trouble getting past. When they do get in a fight with other units, no damage to walls.

67. All Civs- Scientists know how their inventions will work, be named, and what they will lead to, before they're even told to invent them.

haha, good thread

68. Civ3- All civilizations have traits inherent to them.

69. Once initial radiation is cleaned up, there are no after effects.
