Hi

With VEM v104 and CSD v25 I', experiencing massive wars early on in the game. Its total war with AIs ganging up with City States and declaring war all over. Most wars only last a few rounds. Some times I can have 25-30 notifications per round about wars between AI civs/CS.

I'm running a lot of mods including my own where I modified the effects of a number of diplomacy triggers (lowered the diplomacy penalty of having a CIV denounce you, building numerous wonders, ...), but I suspect that this is an effect of either VEM or CSD.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Since the March patch? I've played several games since that and have never seen wars, denouncements, ... like this before.

Since you call it an early rush I guess it'll pass?

PS: Oh - and it's more likely 50 notifications per round. Starting each round just dismissing all notifications - most likely I'll miss out on some important ones :(

It sounds to me like the primary cause is all the changes you made.

I dont know - most of the changes are actually already in VEM - like setting threholds for diplo status a little bit different from vanilla.

Yes, the early rush was introduced in March. Prior to then the AI would typically attack vulnerable citystates first, now it always goes for major civs, no matter how hard I try to get it to do otherwise. It was a very noticeable change when Firaxis introduced it.

Don't you just looooove these hard coded introductions that sometimes almost breaks the game - how am I supposed to win a war in turn 100 if I play om e.g. Emperor and the AI's already got e.g. 15 units rushing me. I wouldn't even have been able to build 15 units at that time even if I focused entirely on unit production.

That being said I never saw it until recently. Maybe it could have been enhanced by the fact that CSD v25 lowered the number of units CS's have as I seem to recall thereby perhaps making the AIs consider the CS's so weak now that they declare war on them and drag other civs into the battle? I posted this question/theory in the CSD thread here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=10840706&postcount=887

On a totally different matter: Hows it going with v106.1 beta - do you have an ETA o a stable release - really itching to start playing again :crazyeye:
