1861 ad

What do I have to do with RevolutionDCM in order to get this mod to work? I've installed AD 1861 and Revolution to my Mods folder, but I don't know what to do next.

I am not sure, I have never used Revolutions with the mod. It sounded interesting, but I was not exactly sure how to use, it or turn it on. Let me know if you find any more out about it. And I will see what I can find out.

The ini is missing as you say. So it would have to be Revolutions would have to be added back into it.

Version 2.5 is on it's way. I am changing some of the wars and relations between nations. Some techs were added to fill the techtree out better. I am thinking of changing the turn times back to weeks. We may need more turns. I applied some graphics from the American Civil War mod, and Shiggs and his team will get credit.
Not sure what else needs to be done, still thinking.

are you going to update to RevDCM 2.72?

I am not sure how, otherwise I would. I don't really have a problem with this version, right now I am trying to figure out some event triggers, so wars can occur when they are supposed to, or at least near to it.

Right. So in which folder should I place the revolutions.ini file? Also, does it matter which version of the file I am using?

I am not sure, I have wrote a private message to the creator of RevolutionsDCM, asking some questions. I also requested help from anyone in the forums, who make help me upgrade the mod with an updated BUG mod, and RevDCM 2.72.

I am not sure exactly which folder it goes in. I do know that this mod is using RevDCM 1.00. I am not sure which revolutions mod they used to integrate them both. To tell you the truth, I don't know why Genghis Kai(the creator of GEM) even took it out. I hope to find some answers soon.

Playtesting going well for version 2.5. It is November 1861, and I am playing as France. I am currently just about done researching Oceanography. Militarily speaking, Africa is my main target, dealing with barbarbians, and preparing to invade Sokoto, in West Africa. My other goal is to occupy and colonize New Guinea. As far as my Far East Vietnamese Colony, they are under fire by Chinese ironclads. I am trying to build my own metal monsters to deal with them. In the world the American Civil War is still raging, as is the Taiping Rebellion. I will update more soon.

I have everything updated to RevDCM SVN 2.8, but whenever you start a game there's no interface. Once I get that fixed, I'll u/l to you.

Thank you, that's great, except for the interface. Hopefully that's an easy fix. Man imagine that mod with revolutions, it's already fun, now I bet it would be really intense. BTW the new version is out 2.5.

This is a great update to the 1860 ad mod.

I am playtesting v. 2.6. I reinstituted vassal states, and reorganized the minor nations. I have five different minor nations. Rebel, Islamic, Tribal, Native, and Asian. They all build units that you would expect for their location. It makes the mod more diverse and realistic. I want to make sure there are no bugs, so give me some time and I will release it. It should not be too long.

This is INDEED a great mod, shame for the giant map that slows it all (but i can see why you chose a giant map).
Hope a similar mod can be implemented in civ5 too, since covers an era full of opportunities for this kind of games.

Good work!

Thank you Falcon, and yes I am quite sure civ 5 will have a similiar mod. I am going to be adding alot more to this mod as time goes on. Right now, I am helping with another project, so I am trying to split my time up for this mod and that one.

Cripp I have a new update called version 2.6. It has some important changes. I am downloading it now.

Here is the download link for 1861 AD version 2.6http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=14962

cool, i'll see if I can redo the merge. it's not with BBAI it's not liking something to do with civilizations schema, seemed ok with just BUG/BULL, so i'm just going to stick with it.

oh, make sure the 1861AD scenario works with the new version. Also you broke the Civilopedia from the main menu, I'm trying to figure out where though.

It uses a sevopedia, just for the GEM mod. They did that when they first created it.
