sorry, but i had already played this turn "December Week3", and sent it to tigranes on March 19th.
we should be playing Dec week 4
 
The 1939 file I got was Week 3 and it said

"Sorry to bother you -- just checking -- did you get this save from me?"

So kiwitt never got my Dec.4 file? See my post 100! I always indicate here my progress, with the corresponding date in the title. Resending file just in case...
 
Looking at the game setup.

Like the fact the France is effectively a lame-duck, Italy should be a lame-duck as well. So when, Paris falls and Italy declares war, Italy should then be handed over to A.I. as well. This would better reflect the 'poor leadership' Italy had.

It's basically Germany and Italy vs Britain and USSR. Axis start with advantage but over the time this will disappear. Italy is not productive at all -- that represents poor leadership. France can be greatly assisted by you -- but we haven't seen a single Expeditionary Corps on the continent ;) Plus, even after Paris falls and we make peace with France -- relations are going to stand at Furious. Vichy France will still like UK more than Germany. You could never coin the perfect balance, but current affairs are the best we can do. Italy did not even enter the war, yet, and you want me to part with it? Claim the Rome and AI will get the Italy! :D
 
Well I should have got France as well as they were tightly aligned in WWII
 
In fact, France could be played by 4th Human. One has to be pro British before fall of Paris, but then one has to change sides and become pro-German:

The United Kingdom, shortly after the Armistice (22 June 1940), attacked a large French naval contingent in Mers-el-Kebir, killing 1,297 French military personnel. Vichy severed diplomatic relations.

The game even has Vichy France civ to replace current France. And then again, once Paris is recaptured Free France could emerge and fight Germany. But what human would agree to be a pawn in the game, changing sides, not able to be himself? AI was the only choice I could think of :dunno:

British fighters eliminated, bombing of London resumed, Londoners killed, production damaged, French Early Cruiser and Sub sunk with somewhat unfavorable odds, Mass Production researched, Naval blockade of Canada imposed and Hungarian AI ivaded southern France!
 
Bloody fighting on Maginot line: 3-4 German units lost to kill 5-6 French before Benelux's culture made it impossible to attack. Culture behaves very silly. Influence driven combat assigns German culture to the plots which are French territory. When French loose and Germany's culture becomes 60+% the tile becomes Benelux's tile with 21% of their culture... How is that even possible?

Sounds more like a bug to me. In any other case when the tile is affected by 2-3 different cultures the culture with the highest percentage must win the tile! Now, as my units kill French units their culture is being decreased by the influence driven modcomp, while my culture increases. But instead of flipping to me the tile flips to neutral Belgians the moment Belgian culture overcomes the diminishing French culture! Since Belgians now have open borders with France and I don't -- I cannot attack the French without declaring the war on Benelux :crazyeye: !

The only consolation is that all the British anti-Air measure are utterly ineffective against the might of my beloved Luftwaffe. We are running out of Factory buildings we can destroy in London :mwaha:, perhaps Portsmouth will be next target!

mmm... why dont you just declare war on belgium?
 
I know, right? Well, it's January now and weather is not right for the new wars. All that snow in Low Countries can be very annoying!
