Finally some news from Italy! Great Artist Giorgio de Chirico was born in Rome :smug:. He founded the scuola metafisica art movement, which profoundly influenced the surrealists. Surrealists who acknowledged De Chirico's influence include Max Ernst, Salvador Dalí, and René Magritte. Yves Tanguy wrote how one day he saw one of De Chirico's paintings in an art dealer's window, and was so impressed by it he resolved on the spot to become an artist—although he had never even held a brush.

So, no wonder Golden Age started in Italy! Duce Mussolini has used de Chirico's monumental work Divine Horses to promote the idea of unstoppable alliance between Germany and Italy (see spoiler).

Looks like some Golden Age has started in USA as well. American GNP is astonishing, USA can research at 100% while still earning gold each turn! All those corporations...

In the other news Kriegsmarine was mourning the death of small submarine wolf pack off the coast of Newfoundland! Admiral Doenitz vowed swift revenge

:( Can no longer build buildings again!!!

This is very strange, I did not even destroy any buildings... Let me see what can be done...

No it was me :( During Jan.4 turn.... RIght now this is my most favorite PBEM and broken Bomber missions feel so annoying  I am contacting modders to seek some help...

All right, Stalin and Churchill :D

We really cannot allow our beautiful and smart game to die just because of this most annoying and weird bug with bombers. Until somebody comes up with a patch or some solution let us avoid 2(two) bombing missions: both Factories and Buildings. Just ignore those 2 buttons, please.

I will replay my January Week 4 turn as Germany (this was the turn that I destroyed Automobile factory in Manchester. I have a feeling bug appears only when I destroy buildings that kiwitt cannot build yet. He has some preplaced buildings that will be available in general later, when and if he will research corresponding techs). Whatever is the reason -- if we avoid those 2 bombing missions we will never have to replay again, I hope. So let us continue without them!

One more time -- really sorry for this idiotic bug!

And as always with the replays PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't forget to erase "previously generated" (buged) files first! If the system is trying to create Stalin Jan 4 file, and you already have that file from 2 turns ago before the replay -- both files will become corrupted, and Stalin will not be able to play!

Same with Stalin generating file for Musspllini -- no "previous life" files in folder please!

I am contacting modders to seek some help...
If I wasn't so involved with RL I'd help with that ... in the meantime I agree with your action as detailed later.

kiwitt, did you get my replay from Jan.4, 1940?

Edit: Nevermind, I just saw your computer upgrade post...

I've taken this screenshot to show you how encirclement can look like in out game :). WW2 had many instances of encirclement, but game does not have adequate mechanism to depict is. But perhaps what you see right now is a sufficiently convincing depiction of encirclement of poor French forces. Trapped in the middle of German culture after the fall of Dijon, constantly harassed by Artillery and by Stukas desperate regular and irregular French units are doomed to be destroyed next turn. But they were still fighting back!

Tankograd was Engineered in Berlin, or rather Panzergrosshtadt, if we translate Russian into German. Very critical Wonder in this mod! :goodjob:

Dogfight with British Spitfires produced 50-50 results during this replay. I have only damaged production of units -- so hopefully no building bug will appear this turn!

America always beats me to this baby, but not in this game! Silly Yanks used their precious engineer for the Golden Age instead :stupid:...

Inspired by the terrific news from the Home Front Wehrmacht captured Orlean, Luftwaffe shot down another British fighter, Kriegsmarine sunk another French submarine, while Gestapo captured another Russian spy (trained in Dnepropetrovsk) :trouble:!

MAJOR SEA BATTLE! SECOND CHATHAM! WHAT'S LEFT TO THE BRITISH PRIDE?

What's left? Only few battered ships is all that left from the ex-glorious Royal Navy after the daring attack by the entire Kriegsmarine this turn! Stubborn British fleet was refusing to lift the blockade of North Sea, despite continuous air raids by German Stukas. After German Navy finally got her new flagship -- famous battleship Bismark -- admiral Raeder has ordered all his ships to engage the enemy. Greatest Naval battle of World War Two was commenced by spectacular duel of two flagships: Bismark and Nelson :goodjob:!

At 06:00 on February 21, 1940, Nelson was completing the second turn to port when rapid-fire salvos from Bismarck's eight 38 cm guns exploded all around the biggest ship in British Navy. Two of the shells landed short, striking the water close to the ship, but at least one of the 38 cm armour-piercing shells struck Nelson and penetrated her thick deck armour. The shell reached Nelson's rear ammunition magazine and detonated 112 t (110 long tons) of cordite propellant. The massive explosion broke the back of the ship between the main mast and the rear funnel; the forward section continued to move forward briefly before the in-rushing water caused the bow to rise into the air at a steep angle. The stern similarly rose upward as water rushed into the ripped-open compartments. Bismark's Captain exclaimed "He is sinking!" over the ship's loudspeakers. In only eight minutes of firing, Nelson had disappeared, taking all but three of her crew of 1,419 men with her.

Stunned by the death of their admiral British ships lost the nerve and were sent to the bottom of the sea one by one in rapid succession. The only major setback was the destruction of German Battleship Gneisenau, which lost with favorable odds :(
The final tally looked like this:

Only one British Battleship escaped the mastery of German gunners -- mainly because we did not have any more ships to pursue the enemy. Admiral Raeder ordered general retreat to Hamburg, while civilians there were getting ready for the major jubilation [party]

Our gracious and peaceful leader, Josef Stalin, kindly asks the decrepit western world leaders to put an end to this useless war.
This is a fine example of what capitalism brings to the world. Destruction and misery, uncountable human lives lost due to the madness of their leaders.
The USSR has opened its frontiers to all the western world workers who want to flee their putrid motherlands and join the soviet paradise.

Poisoning water system in Gdansk and Koeningsberg is what your "gracious and peaceful" leader is good for. We will deal with him in the due time. Meanwhile -- finally:

What a graceful sight! German troops entering Paris, taking pictures near Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Arce Trumphal (very useful World wonders). French government fled to Nantes.

Navy is mourning fallen heroes, taking very little consolation in the death of those annoying English destroyers. Bismark was sunk in her maiden raid  That old pre-dreadnought we had was unable to protect our presious ships. Heavy Cruiser Admiral Hipper became German Flagman until we build Tirpitz!
