1. I would like to suggest that the succession games not be buried under stories and tales. People new to the forums would probably find them a lot more quickly and maybe get interested in them sooner. Even by just reading some of them a person can learn a whole lot.

2. When I receive a PM it does not "pop up a box" even though I have it set to in the options. Not a really big deal, I was just expecting it to after setting it that way.

1. It used to be that succession games are meshed together with the stories in a same forum. ;) I think the Civ3 forum side is already quite filled... Maybe a promotion on the CFC main site?

2. The option's been disabled. ;) Even if you set it on in your CP, it doesn't work anymore.

Promoting succession games to a level 1 forum has been discussed with Thunderfall in the past.

This discussion also included shuffling the NES forum off to Other games or some other location since it has nothing to do with Civ3 and just detracts from finding Civ3 related materials.

I think Thunderfall is just waiting for more public recognition inputs like these. so in that vein your inputs are welcome and right in line with other comments.

I would love to be able to see the SG forum more clearly. It's odd that it so tucked away when it one of the most popular Civ forum.

Why was the pop up option disabled anyway?

The popup is turned off because it doesn't seem to work as advertised. ;) You get your popups for a received PM. And more popups. And more popups....

As for SGs, originally they were the Stories & Tales forum. As they became more popular, we shifted them to a subforum of their own, to be easier to find. They still fit the concept of being "Stories and Tales", though, so it still makes some sense to keep them in that subforum. They aren't really ALL that hard to find.... ;)

oh..Well tell vBuletin to fix that, and enable it again, ok?;)

"Wait for 3.0 to be released"

I think I must have been reading that in this forum pretty much since I first registered

The reason I brought this up was because I had visited Civfanatics for quite a while before finding the SGs. After a while I realized something like that existed but I didn't really know what it was. I suspect a lot of people are unaware of its existence or what it's about. Not to be argumentative, but I don't understand what SGs reallly have to do with stories and/or tales anyway. Kind of, but not really.

You assume correctly, just thought I'd give the the comment a bit of context for those who've not been here long enough to know how  worthy the situation really is. Nice Ming impression, by the way ;)

Actually, TF turned it back on, once. Then people started getting 'ghost' notifications, for backlog of PMs in the past... ;)

So if you'd a lot of PMs in the past, and then TF turns this option back on now, expect to receive a lot of backlog notifications. It's no wonder why people complain... ;)

Delete or not, you'll still get those backlog of notifications.

I.e. if you'd received 100 PMs betw the time TF off this option and turning it back on now, you'll get 100 notifications - regardless of whether you've deleted them PMs or not. And they come in spurts...

CFC is a giant; lots of things we'd like to try but can't as it may impact on forum efficiency. :p

Yes, the NES's should be moved. Or that doesn't matter so mch, but the SG forums really should be moved to the main forum page.

Since we seem to be having a bit of a SG promotion, I'll also chip in by saying the SG forum is the best forum on CFC! There are never any problems, you don't get any spam/flaming, everyone's really friendly and it is the best place to learn and to improve your civving skills. When I discovered the SG forum I learned more from a few days of reading succession games than I had from a few months reading general discussions/strategy. It should definitely have much greater promotion/advertising instead of being tucked away as a sub-forum.

Nad, that's excactly what I'm thinkin' also! The SG forum is the best place to improve your civ skills, it should be lifted up out of that other story stuff.
