20 Pharaoh buildings

Hi Rob :wavey:

Could you please convert a building for me from Pharaoh ? :please:
An Obelisk. :)
I think someone already converted it but i just can't find it anywhere. :(

Cheers,
Cata

You can do it yourself, the way to is easy:

1. open Pharaoh (which i suppose you have)

2. Move the screen to where the building you want can be seen.

3. Make a screen capture (in my computer it is done if you press ctrl+prtscn)

4. Exit Pharaoh and open any paint program you have.

5. Paste the image you captured on the blank file you opened in your paint program. Save.

6. Open your pcx editing program (eg the Gimp) and use it to load the paint file you had created.

7. Create a 128x128 blank file, and copy paste your picture on it.

8. Create a 256 colour palette, with the last two colours set to 00ff00 and ff00ff (if it is the Gimp)

9. Save.

10. Do the same with a 32x32 (iirc) file.

That is all, and it sounds more than it is, really :)

It does not use that much disc space, so this should not be a problem.
Well, if Rob doesn't have any obelisks around i guess i'll look for the game ... It might take several days/weeks. So i was hoping i might have the obelisk this year (literally :)).

I've done a couple of other buildings now, the obelisk not being one of them. I'm the chef today for a three-course christmas meal and I don't think my guests would appreciate me doing pcx work when I'm meant to be entertaining   !!

However, through the week, I'll have a look for it and it shouldn't take me too long to sort one out for you ;) .

That would be great.
Thank you.

Great idea! Have you tried this with regular photos?

For photos there is an extra step, since you have to isolate them from their background. Again i have a tutorial for that in the relevant section of the forum (it is the one titled something like: "how to get a working pcx file from a bryce file", but the steps are the same for any other source as well) :)
