2006-07 NHL Season

I don't get to see any Penguins games since I've moved to Atlanta, when they play the Thrashers I always have tickets but otherwise I don't see them. As far as I'm aware, the Thrashers games aren't even shown here. The lockout season really killed hockey's TV time, I hope it makes a comeback. A few games a week is fine, Basketball has 5 a day down here.

Boy I love living in Quebec ... we get all hockey games from the Habs.

 8 bucks for a ticket ...... my god .... I'd be at the bell center every game if it was that cheap here !
Half the seats of the upper bowl of the Xcel Center are $15, it kicks ass. And all the Wild games are on TV around here.

It costs a arm and a leg to go to the bell center.

and during the playoffs I can see almost any games on TV.

Upper-Deck + AU student Discount = Caps games every other week for a while. The Verizon center was half empty, so we could usually sneak down a level by the 2nd Perioid. You get what you pay for though...the Caps suck.

Well they did occasionally have a good year every once in a while. :p

He's a free agent at the end of the year so if Smyth really loves edmonton he'll sign back with the oilers and the Islanders will have nothing.

Maybe, but IMO the best way to keep him is to not lose him at all. Once he sees the bright lights of Broadway he's not going to want to come back!

The Islanders are in Nassau County, on Long Island, a loooong way from the bright lights of Broadway. I'm sure he'll love playing in an arena not even half full so much that he won't want to go back to Edmonton where they sold out every single game so far this season.

They're not mad, they just don't care anymore. At the sports bar where I work at you were not aloud to play music on the jukebox if a Oilers game was on, and all TVs had to be on the Oilers game. Last game, no one cared, 2 of 6 tvs were set to the game and the jukebox was blaring away all night. And this a bar that was once full of die hard fans even in the bad years before the Lockout. People just don't care, they've already given up on them.

They gave up on themselves, if they had any hope of making the playoffs they would never have let Smyth go. We'll be back next season in force, providing Lowe makes an effort to build the team during the off season.

I don't know why people seem to think so much about Ryan Smith. Koivu has more points then him and half the city of Montreal wants him out of here.

Right now, Smith is 54th in the league for points. he's a good player but nothing to loose hope for.

Its not always about points. Did you see how the city reacted when we lost Laraque? That was a big blow and he probably only had a dozen points, but he helped the city and was good with the fans. Same goes for Ryan

@JonnyB I think much of the fans that I know think that Lowe gave away an chance of the playoffs(however slim that was) and so if the Oilers Administration don't believe they can make, then why should the fans

31 of those points were goals.

Hey just want to say that Janssen hit on Kaberle was perfectly legal altough maybe 1/4 of a second late. There was no penalty on the play why 3 matchs of suspension? cough cough

they say only 100 000$ seperated the oilers from signing Smyth...5,4 vs 5,5 millions...

Maybe Janssen is really a Quebecois and the league is biased against Quebecois? It must be something like that. What else could it possibly be?

It's pretty clear what happened here: the Leafs have influence over the NHL, the Sabres ... not nearly as much.

exactly...I was being sarcastic. I think he was like 3 seconds late, I mean the camera wasnt there anymore.
but I would have gave much more games of suspension. I would have also fined the damn referrees. why is the NHL have so bad referrees when I maybe see one doubtfull call in every two games in the NFL.

any guys have seen the penalty on Halak yesterday?

I mean he got a penalty for delay of the game for freezing the puck! I mean how fundamental is it for a goalie for froze it! he's there for that! I bet in 5 years they will take off the pads of the goalie so they can score more goals.
