Bucknell's a good team. They hung on to Wake Forest to overtime this year. I expect them to get to the tournament again this year.

I think Bucknell was favored to win vs Wake due to all Wake's youngsters ;) . Plus they were at
home.

Yeah, this Wake Forest is not the Wake Forest of a few years ago. And don't look now, but does anyone see potential for "Pete Gillen Syndrome" in Prosser's future?

Yes, but a close game with an ACC school is an accomplishment in itself.

77-76, over St. John's. Another close game for Texas. This team is going to grow up fast at this pace, heh.

With Abrams & Durant we should get into the Tournament, maybe a sweet 16 with some luck.

I would say Second Round "upset" at this point.

Didn't St. Johns get demolished by Maryland?

Screw Bucknell. American is going to win the Patriot league this year,

Im pulling for OSU (get better Oden), BYU, and my AMERICAN EAGLES! Another year of getting creamed by real college basketball teams, here we come!

American is going to get crushed by Buck-wheat!

Texas has a habit of playing down to its competition...see, Oklahoma last year ;)

I'm just basing my hope off of what potential I see. If it doesn't develop, we will be lucky to make the tournament. The Big 12 is kinda weak outside Kansas it seems like, and they just lost to Oral B or whoever the hell they are :p

It's very likely that'll happen at least once. American, however, returns their top 3 or 4 scorers, and has a pretty decent frosh class. We only have to beat them once after all, in the Patriot League Tourny..

As long as we dont get swept by freakin Holy Cross again.

You guys definetly have the best chance of beating Bucknell in the Patriot League. Despite an 0-3 start, I feel very confident about Bucknell this year.

North Carolina, on the other hand, plays Gonzaga, Ohio State, and Kentucky in a 2-week span. It could also potentially play Texas in that span too, that's a scary thought. :(

well, the patroit is pretty top heavy. American and Bucknell ought to be strong in league play, and Holy Cross wont be an easy win....but the rest of the league sucks pretty bad. I heard Colgate got a few good people in their recruiting class....but they were really really bad last year.

I really think the only thing is going to matter who's on top of the Patriot League Championchip Game between Bucknell and American. ;) Holy Cross will finish 3rd, and then it's a race for 4th from there.

Why does Brandon Wright insist on shooting the ball every time he touches the ball? And I don't think we've heard of perimeter defense. And Phsyco T got lost on his way to the Garden, because he's weak out there tonight.

Gonzaga wins, haha. I would think Gonzaga would be rather weak this year without Morrison.

Colgate? What's with the freakin toothpaste names everywhere? Where does Crest play? :p

It was a close game between UNC and Gonzaga last night, but the Zags held on. They blew their 16 point lead in just a few minutes, and I thought they were going to lose when Raivio kept taking those horrible shots and turning the ball over and then fouling the guy! Basically, Tyler Hansbrough didn't do anyting thanks to the double (sometimes triple) team; I guess that's what it takes to beat UNC though.

BTW, that freshman on Gonzaga, Matt Bouldin, was looking very good. The commentators kept talking about his place in the top 5 of the freshman class, and I'd have to agree.

edit: Crosspost with Azale...

That, and Wright jacking up bad shots. I'm really okay with a loss, those freshmen never have been on the big stage, so they're used to it now and they're going to beat Tennessee and Ohio State hopefully. Also, Wright needs to use that 7'4'' wingspan to get a hand in someone's face on the perimeter, they were hitting everything last night.

Geez, I leave for 1 semester, and AU changes everything on me. It looks like we have a new logo (AGAIN), and are making ESPN call us by our full name? No American. No AU. Its got to be American University, even in the box score. Weird.

However, we're 3-1, and have the second best record in the Patroit league (and we had Richmond by the neck and we choked too. That would have been a nice win). Bucknell drops to 0-4. I like our chances.

Also, OSU is lookin real good, even though they have played crappy teams. Oden might play against UNC. If he can see the floor, I like their chances (Florida however, will crush the Buckeyes).

Of course, Bucknell has played actual teams and American has played the equivalents of community colleges.
