Last night's game was epic...It's without a doubt the best one I've ever watched...And I'm not even a fan of either of these teams...Congratulations to the Cubs. Coming back from a 3-1 deficit on the road is not easy.

Ditto. Possibly the most badly timed rain delay in the history of baseball. Or the best, either way.

Is this the first time game 7 has gone to extra innings?

No. At least once before, in 1991.

1997 (the Jose Mesa/Tony Fernandez game) and 1924 (Senators tie the game late, Walter Johnson pitches 4 frames in extra innings, Senators walk it of 4-3) also had Game 7 go to extra innings.

Before last night's Cubs World Series win, the last time the Cubs won the World Series, there were living passenger pigeons in the American Midwest (they became extinct a few years later).

And this ain't no Expendables-style collection of veterans taking a final shot at glory. This is a pretty young team.
