27.42/27.xx Drivers and Random Crashes

I'm running XP home edition with a geforce 3. I used to have 27.00 Drivers in but i decided to switch to 27.42. Ever since then I get random blue screen crashes in Civ 3 whenever i close it, and even in the game, I can't remember what the blue screen says because i haven't played civ3 in forever because of this problem. Has anyone else run into this or know how to fix it?
