It is apparent thet there is a christian conspiracy to remove the Danes from the role call of history. We will fight back. Turn from your false gods and follow Odin the strongest of gods.
The Danes are too strong in this scenario. We could either:
1 reduce the strength of the beserker
2 increase the english strength by giving them city walls and spears everywhere
or
3 set up a game where all of us play every civ but the winner is the best combined VP score. Like a set of four games where you are all of the civs in one of the games. Then we could see who is the best (or luckiest) strategist
Anybody got any ideas? What do you reckon would be the best way forward.
@Dufoi and KS ( with reference to the 2nd and 4th Crusades) it's hard to survive as England if the Danes attack you as I have found out. Too many English cities next to the sea.

So, managing our resources well and building wonders earns us a sneak attack on some lightly defended, low value towns. The French people will not take this laying down! We dispatched a horsemen and we will see the battle another day.

Regarding the game - it seems dumb that the best defender is no better defender than the offensive pieces. Spears are almost worthless. Maybe bump them to a 3 defense. The cords have a similar advantage to the Danes with the Ansars. I cannot even protect or sacrifice with spears for the offensive pieces. Still blowing throught those pikes does not bode well for later game either. Maybe they need to be a 5 instead of a 4.

The Non christian league has been formed and arrangements made with the Keivan Rus and the Cordovans.
The game needs balancing better for pbem play. We'll see what suggestions we come up with once these 4 are finished. It is a good idea to upgrade spears as they are a bit useless. Plus downgrade berserkers a little.
