2nd Crusade

Ribe
Killed French army and 3 knights. 2 ran away. Lost 1 berserker and a merc.

No news from England our raiding party of longbow and MI considered lost in action.
VP's 29280

The other army was offshore in the right position to kill the invading French army though it was touch and go for a while with it being on 1 bar for the last 2 or three of the French army.
I knew the French had been too quiet. On the other hand I scored more VP's that turn :) Hmmm! are the Germans ammassing a similar attack or are they too busy fighting our good friends the Kievan Russ and the Byzantines. It's amazing what people will do for a few gold pieces :D

Well I was greeted by this:

So you either knew you had delivered the relic and won; or you have automoved it into Jerusalem since posting.

I knew that someone delivering a relic was the only danger to the Danes winning. One more attack might have done it for me. It's a bit frustrating being so close, just to get the game snatched away at the last moment.
So I guess that puts me second, KS third and daufoi fourth.

Well, if you had gone about your business and scored your relic rather than messing with France, who was more than happy to entertain you rather than have you score your relic, then you would have won a long time ago.

We were conspiring to put you in third but that did not work out. Would have cut it real thin anyway. You could have scored enough to win this turn as it was.

BTW - what became of your relic?

It was in one of the galleys that was sunk in the channel. I don't know if I had enough troops to take Jerusalem at that point. I made more mistakes than that :)
Anyway if I had landed my relic in Jerusalem and left Germany and France to expand south unchecked you would have attacked me anyway with more troops from the vast lands that you owned in the south. I had hoped to keep the medditaranian islands so I could stop you getting to Jerusalem and attack later. Didn't work out that way.

I was wondering. It seemed you had more than enough to take Jerusalem, especially then. Holding it against us might have been a bit difficult.

I thought it must have been sunk.

It's hard work holding off 2 human players :) Even with the help of all the AI's  The Cordovans could have been better. Fancy getting wiped out when I needed them to pressure your Western flank. The Kieven Russ did a bit better and at least survived to be a thorn in the German's side. Maybe I should have seeked the Byzantines on France too, they could have at least slowed your shipping down a bit. Oh well it was a close run race in the end.
