3 traits pr. civ

Does commercial really fit the Vikings? Religious or Expansionist might work better.

Well, the Vikings were excellent traders, so it fits them. They traded with "everyone" from tribes deep inside Russia to nations in the Mediterranean.

Commercial
Less corruption, +1 gold in city tile when size 7-12, +1 gold in city tile when size 13-, I think they gave also +1 shield in vanilla 1.29f patch. Cheaper commercial buildings

IIRC then the commercial trait does NOT give cheaper commerce buildings in the same way that religious, scientific, etc. give cheaper build costs for temples, libraries, etc.

Am I mistaken?

if your playing a modern day mod then Germany and Japan shouldn't be militaristic.

Whereas the USA definitely should be militaristic

A war filled, aggressive, until recently expansionist; yes. Militaristic? Not even close.

He he he... If nations that don't shy away from wars are to be given the militaristic trait, then perhaps there should be a new pacifist trait for those who do shy away from wars. It would have a significant unit cost for military units, but would gain happiness whenever a militaristic civ was at war.

DOH! Misread my own charts earlier :p

Please reread my correction post for the actual bonuses - should also be more obvious now why I think Commercial is quite a strong trait ;)

Which is also why I agree agr/ind/com would be too powerful. The only downside to the commercial traits is you have to wait for the benefits. Agricultural trait decreases the waiting time, and industrious helps in keeping up with tile improvements.

I'd have to take the civ with those traits, just to make sure the AI didn't.

Also I'm always amazed that people don't often think of American and European civs as agricultural. I think these civs are more likely to get higher yields from irrigation than say, the Zulu.
