[GS] 30-Day Patch for GS?

I disagree with most of what you wrote, but I especially disagree with this. Compared to Civ V, Firaxis is releasing patches and expansions more quickly. Indeed, they're releasing content at about the same pace that they did for Civ IV. I don't think that anyone is intentionally holding content away from you just for fun.

Anyway, here's hoping for a patch soon! I'm just about to start another game and I hate getting a mid-game patch.

Fair enough!

I sort of don’t disagree they’re releasing more “stuff” overall, or are doing a lot of patching.

What I meant is that they’ve rolled out less big mechanics (albeit the mechanics they have released are sort of more complex / fuller). Like, they’re sort of releasing less but better stuff, with the overall effect is less big mechanics getting released.

eg I think the World Congress was likely meant to get released with RnF, but maybe held it back to work on it more. As a result, it’s more complex, better developed, but it came out later than it could have.

But. What I’m saying is very subjective. So, yeah, not saying I’m 100% right about this...

I just feel like, overall, Civ VI has a longer development cycle. Like, they’re building a brick house, and not deliberately going slow or dragging it out, but they are placing bricks very carefully to make a very sturdy house (but then it does take longer to finally get the roof on).

Guess we’ll find out in about 8 months when they either do or don’t release a third expansion...

So if history is any guide, I'd guess we're looking at next week for the patch, especially if we see another update or two to the Mac and Linux branches today or tomorrow and then nothing on their QA branches.

How unfortunate, but keeping cross-platform parity is important. I played Civ5 on Mac, and my PC brother and I rarely could play MP because of the dreaded version spread between them, so I give props for how tight CIv6 updates have been between platforms. Waiting a week won’t kill anyone.

Since it has been so long since GS release, I hope there is some meat on this update. I hate to talk ill about Civ, but GS came with a lot of glaring bugs that greatly distract from gameplay. QA was too busy prepping for Valentines before Feb 14, I suppose.:mischief:

The Mac and Linux branches updated again. Assuming my "for approval" theory is correct, they are giving it another go pretty quickly. Which would indicate they have a fixed date in mind.

Thursday is back in the realm of possibilities, in my opinion.

Thank you eagle pursuit for the regular updates.

(Going to play some chess. Hoi4 update hits next week. But i’m interested to know what firaxis is working on in the patch notes. Even if i dont start up a civ 6 game soon)

So, patch day? I told myself earlier in the week I was going to wait until the patch came out to start a new game, but ended up starting one anyways. Hopefully it doesn't break things, if it does come out.

I'd say the lack of any 2kqa branch updates this week plus the Mac and Linux-related updates discussed above are consistent with a patch coming today, but I wouldn't bet a lot of money on it or cancel plans in anticipation. (I like to be pleasantly surprised, so I'm keeping expectations low. :p)

Patch for Civ VI at 1PM EST and a likely announcement of Borderlands 3 at 2PM EST, today is an interesting Thursday.

EDT. We started daylight saving time on March 10th.

Don't be too disappointed, yet. We've had patches come out much later than 1pm when they're rushing to get things finished.

I feel like I remembered having later patches. Thanks for confirming.
