Download Carthage civ here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=139107

I did the LH artwork and Jacrell did every other necessary stuff :goodjob:
I expect add a second leader for this new civ soon, maybe Dido.

enjoy!

I saw the first Catharge mod, it uses the artworks that come with Civ4 for what I saw, I don't know if there is any new artwork present there. The LH is the Civ3 PTW Hannibal.
This one has static LH done in Poser and I expect in the future anime it :D

I think use city list and other stuff done by Firaxis on PTW, if someone has a better one or suggestions for them, post ;) , so, I can add in this new civ.

Are you going to use the Phoenician flag provided in the Greek World mod?

If not, then here is an alternate. According to http://flagspot.net/flags/lb_phoen.html this is a supposed flag of Phoenicia provided by the Lebanese government. Not sure how accurate it actually is, but I couldn't find anything better :p.

As far as i know it's not CivArmy's style most of the time to be accurated, i only recall he doing this for the brazilian leaders as he probably saw them a lot of times in his school times.
I suggest that if one wants to help CivArmy doing a more accurated LH that you send a pic of Hannibal.

EDIT: This is a modern flag, it has nothing to do with Carthage. I suggest using the symbol of hte goddes Tanit: http://homepage.mac.com/melissaenderle/tunisia/Images/Tanit-symbol.jpg
It was on of the most used symbols of carthage, probablyh it was used in banners of the armies and flags as Tanit is some times related with Dido, founder of Carthage.

wait, wasnt there someone who already did Carthage?(I already have a Carthage) Are you improving the old one or is it a new one with different things?

My module was made seperately, but Civ Army enjoys creating the same Civilizations again with his own leaderheads. I won't argue that my module, despite its pecularities, will be dropped in favor of Civ Army's civilization by most Civ fans, because of his artistic expertise.

Civ Army -- I'd like to contribute my entire Carthage Mod so you don't have to do the dirty work for yourself. I'd rather we modders work together rather than divide ourselves from within.
Also, I love what you've done with Hannibal.

P.S. -- if you'd like I can mock up some simple installation programs to further ease the installation process for some of your mods.

Pretty sweet, he needs to look more angry or intimidating though. His eyes remind me of a "deer in the headlights" look for some reason Additionally I would make Carthage Aggressive/Financial as opposed to Aggressive/Organized as the other Carthage mod (considering Carthage's obscene wealth). I'd also give them a different unit than a war elephant; I'd give them Sacred Band (sometimes referred to as Afrika Korps) - a unit with 5 power, +50% against melee, and 2 movement (so they can pillage and move in the same turn - wreak some havoc like Hannibal did in Italy) - they could replace axemen but would use a reskinned phalanx model.

Wrong, I try to be accurated as possible as I can, sometimes the LH doesn't look like its leader, cos the software has limitations, I don't have enought experience to do any specific "effect" on the LHs face, cos I didn't find any good reference or bicause the not accurated LH version cames better then the accurated one.

I'd like to use many stuff ready for this first Carthage mod, thanks! :thanx: And if u want use this LH for that mod, fell free! :)
About the installation program: I'll launch the "Next Level Mod" with my first 21 LHs (all Firaxis LHs plus mines), so, if u could produce to me that install it'd be great!!! This mods cames soon, I advise u before I release it on these boarders ;)

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try to do them too!
About the UU, do u have any image for reference? And there is more people with more UU suggestions or supporting this one?

Carthage's wealth was not an attribute of Hannibal's leadership though, but I see where you're coming from.

And, as far as War Elephants are concerned, if it's really that much of an issue, I also created the Numidian Mercenary as a secondary option. But it would be no different than replacing the spearman.

Personally I believe the War Elephants, while different, give some personality to the Civilization. Because there are already many Civilizations out, but none of them have a unique unit of the elephants. And, does any other Civilization come to mind concerning unique war elephants rather than Carthage?

I'd be glad to help. If you want any graphics in particular to be used during the installation, I'd be glad to use them.

Oh, concerning the Carthage mod. Would you like to start a new thread with our combined project? I would prefer that rather than just updating my mod with the leaderhead.

Also, do you plan on doing a Korean civ?
If so, I'm just about to release mine tonight, and if you'd like to contribute in some way I'd be glad to have your assistance.

India and Siam :p

Ahh -- but India's UU is the Fast Worker.
Siam, unfortunately, I am uneducated about. :(

I really like this leader head for Hannibal, though if your going to either adapt it to Jercell's mod (which I've been enjoying for a while as well), or make a new one, perhaps you could add Dido in as well? Wussy non-imperialists who favor Carthage like myself would thank you :D I'm thinking Financial/Industrious because of the merchant arisotracy that she supported throughout her reign, and the fact that when she and her people first came from Phoencia they built Carthage into a legendary city. Hannibals favorite Civic should be Representation, because after he returned from the Second Punic War he democratized, to an extent (an importantly different extent from Universal Sufferage), the Carthaginian government. While Dido's should be Free Market, for obvious reasons.

Also, I think Jercell's symbol and flag for Carthage is definately the way to go.

But it would be reasonable to select an Elephant UU for India, a la Civ III.

I think it isn't necessary another thread for Carthage, people can post them suggestions here and/or in your version ready ;)

This is my to do list:
- Ataturk of Turkey
- Hannibal of Carthage
- Dalai Lama Gyatso of Tibet
- 2nd leader to Canada (not chosen)
- 2nd leader to Vikings (not chosen)
- 2nd leader to Rome (not chosen)
- King Solomon to Israel

When these civis were ready I launch the Next Level Mod. After this mod I'll do:
- 2 leaders to Australia
- then I can do the leader for Korea. Remember, the civis that were present and any version of the civ (Dutch, Sumeria, Byzantines, Korea, Celts...) has my priority on LH production when this time cames.

what u can do is creat your Korean thread and civ and late I create the LHs and use the stuff were done ;) :D

The problem with giving Civs an elephant UU is that ivory isn't nearly as common as the other required resources like horses or iron...
