Okay since no one made a question and I have another good one, I am posting it now:

27 German soldiers got the highest class of the Knights Cross, the diamonds to the Knights Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords of the Iron Cross. At least it is the highest clöass to be given to more than one man (Golden Swords and the Great Cross were only given to Rudel and Göring resp.). One of these men wanted to kill Hitler. Who? And why did that not happen?

Can't remember his name but wasn't it a uniform inspection and Allied bombers hit the train yard where the new uniforms were stored?

i believe that was the minister of labour. I cant remember his name. He was going to drop some poison down a ventilation shaft, into a bunker of hitlers. He failed because, when he went back to the ventilation shft they had built the ventilation towers higher so he couldnt reach them.

He was tried @ Nurenburg, and was given a life scentence. He wrote a book. He was an architecht before the war, but for some stupid reason I cant remember his name. Hitler held him in high regard.

May be it was Shtaufenberg?

I'm thinking Rommel, but I think he may have wanted hitler offed, but didn't actually take an active role. When the attempt took place, I believe Rommel was laid up sick.

Albert Speer, Ministe rof Armaments and Munitions/Inspector General of Autobahns.

However, I doubt it would be him; Speer wasn't a military man, and was rather a friend of Hitler's.

It rather depends on how you define the desire to kill Hitler, actively involved in a plot or merely knowing about it for example.

From the dates on that Feldgrau site and the fact you say it is a soldier, I'm guessing Hube, Strachwitz or Gille? And why he didn't kill hitler? I'm guessing cause he became a casualty or got captured? That's about as far as I can go. Maybe this might spark a memory from someone else?

Well, meisen said it, and although he said three names it would be fair to give him the honour. It was Hyazinth Graf von Strachwitz, aka Panzergraf. He wanted to "arrest" Hitler when coming to the front. If he would have resisted he would be shot. Since it was clear he would do so I counted this as assassination attempt. Hitler came to the front in early ´43 but did land because of an urgent situation not where it was planned, so the plot did not work. Although Strachwitz´ name was said after the 20th July he wasn´t even interrogated. Ironically he got the Diamonds later. After the war he should have joined the Bundeswehr, but in the end did not so. I do not know why, so another diamond carrier is the only one. But after him I will ask another time.
Up to you meisen.

I didn't know someone had planned to arrest Hitler. Great question Adler.

For mine - probably been done before, but if not....

Can anyone guess what aircraft is depicted in this 3 view?

Cool, it worked 1st time. :) (uploading an image)

It looks strangely familiar but something doesn't seem right. Almost as if it was copied from another design. Is it a Yak?

The aircraft not the bovine.....
