As we near the 40th Anniversary of the Kennedy Assasination, on Saturday, I would like posters to answer the poll and eloborate in their post if they want to. Also, if you were alive and can remember, I would like posters to speak of where they were and what they were doing when they heard about the assasination.

I would also like to point out that without a trial, Oswald could never be convicted. The murder is still an open case at the Dallas Police Department.

*BUMP*

I can see, now, that I will find this initial period of my membership to be quite repetitive. No, I am not "Curt". I dream of the day people stop asking me this.

Pick the tag line, non de plume, whatever, most recognizable part of the poster who as the most posts here, and people are going to think you're him. Especially when he is MIA. (Or is he?)

In any event, I say Lee Harvey Oswald. Until they end up releasing the documents. .. well, I have other things to worry about.

I fail to see the big deal about JFK. My mom goes googly-eyes whenever he's mention. How great he was, this and that. I don't see greatness. I see a failed invasion, a bunch of rhetoric, and a plea to make it to the moon by the end of the decade. Maybe you had to be there to see him and experience it, but while he may have had great potential, in the end it wasn't used. Be it his fault for not following through with it, or by getting killed before he could do anything with it.

What, no Soviets? How disappointing....j/k

My guess it's probably the Oswald dude, but he didn't do it alone, I don't think. But I doubt there was some grand conspiracy, either.

Somehow there are too many coincidences to put the finger on Oswald. Kenendy wanted to pull out of Vietnam, and there were many groups of interests who didn't want that.

I say Al Qaeda.

 Good one.

Ah, I don't know, and I don't really care myself. [It was] Some sort of conspiracy that worked out. I don't think LHO did it all himself.

No, he didn't. He gave a vague response to a question about Vietnam in an interview. Hardly conclusive prove he wanted the military "advisers" out of Vietnam. You should remember that he was the one who put them there and increased their numbers.

The lesser known "I have a dream" speech.

My guess about the assasination is some rogue element within the CIA, but I would like to stress that is very much a guess. We will probably not know the true circumstances of JFK's death for 50 or so years, when everyone involved is long dead.

proberbly a mixture of the above i'm not sure who actually pulled the trigger but i feel there was a lot to do with the mafia and Big business

That cigarette smoking guy from the X-Files. Duh. :p

I would say Oswald and a few other morons.

Well I remember it – Perhaps this tells how big a story it was. I was a 9 year old English kid living in darkest Africa. . How far away from America can you get?
I remember the morning I got up and my parents told me about it. I can still picture myself in the corridor at our home as they told me. (Yes, it’s a bit corny, but I do remember where I was when I learned about it). I obviously didn’t fully understand what was going on, but the reaction of my parents had a big effect on me.
Only the assassination the Queen or the PM of Britain would have had a bigger effect on us.

Why is the giant radioactive monkey not on the poll? I think he did it. Oh wait, he wouldn't have been alive then since he was born in OT and Al Gore hadn't invented the internet yet...

In all truth, the person responsible for killing JFK was the guy that shot him.

I don't know who did it, but I do know that the killer shots came from a sewer, where the attacker then fled through the tunnels and out of a huge culvert that emptied into a flood channel. I saw this on Discovery, and they went by the trajectory of the bullet wound, and the reaction of Kennedy's head when the bullet hit. They must of played the bullet meets head video about 20 times.

Canada. It's always the one you suspect the least.
