I know this is a work in progress... Using some different shades of the same color as you did in Post #109 helps accent the structures and appears more realistic as well as aesthetically pleasing.
I am not sure where the left stairway (assuming it is a stairway/board) is supposed to be leading. Maybe there would be something over the thin wall there.
Then again, maybe the front board/stairway isn't leading to the tower either, and there would be a chasm between the fenced sloping courtyard and the Great Tower. Would be in line with the solitude in De Chirico's work.
A somewhat more obscure explanation would be that this isn't a sloped courtyard, but the veranda of some utterly massive building - which would itself be the (unseen in that case) Great Tower.
I doubt it, though. Probably the tower is inaccessible, and a lot further away; the stairs don't lead to it at all.
