Utter BS. That you are from Germany and cannot see through this is shameful.

There has been no official statement made in this direction whatsoever. Not from the criminal investigation office, not from the interior ministry, not from the prosecution department. This "news" about the guy's motives is entirely a product of a journalist working for the FAZ. A newspaper which has spread more lies and distortions regarding the migrant situation and Islamic terror in the last months than I am willing to count.

The Frankfurter Allgemeine? You must be joking. But given the "lies and distortions regarding the migrant situation and Islamic terror" a more harsh qualification might be more appropriate.

This rooftop scene of the confrontation between a German and the shooter has now lead to the German state threatening to prosecute the German over racial slurs plus, according to:

In the Dutch news, it was reported that someone had filed charges, and that the German state was investigating these. (And putting them on the bottom of a filing cabinet.) That's quite a different picture from the state actively looking to prosecute someone.
But maybe our German posters have a more accurate view of the situation.

No that pretty much sums it up - someone filed charges anonimously and the spokesperson for the attorney general stated it should be resolved quickly (though he apparently did mention court proceedings). Even if they find that the law was violated (which might very well be the case) its rather likely they'd conclude that there was not sufficient public interest to prosecute and wait for someone private to press charges (which could only be surviving family of the shooter). Getting riled up about someone filing charges anonmously and the attorney general doing their job in checking wether such charges merit a fullblown investigation is rather disingenious but then the filing of said charges is currently a rather common tactic by people wishing to get other people riled up...
