99% done with new shadow skin

Although I do think this shadow is quite good, I agree with WK that it fits some civs better than others. I can't imagine a Banner or Malakim shadow to look like this.

Malakim Shadow -
Spoiler :
bpwn63

Was made quite a while ago by Mr.Underhill for my Malakim+ mod.

Technically not a Shadow, but a UU replacement, the Dervish.

Spoiler :
Dervish - Malakim Shadow UU
  • 9/8 Str
  • +1 Fire damage
  • +1 Sun mana affinity
  • 1 move
  • Can become invisible at will in desert.
Upgrades from lvl 6 Assassin OR lvl 6 Champion after researching Guilds, National limit of 4.

Spoiler Pedia Entry :
"Gods Damn the Malakim, and their bastard Dervishes!

I was part of an expedition deep into Malakim lands... All went well until we camped. The very instant we relaxed, the Dervishes were upon us. They fight like Demons, I tell you!

Of the entire unit, only I made it out alive... Not because I beat them, no. They wanted me to spread their myth, and spread it I shall." - Unknown Bloodpet

Spoiler Strategy Entry :
Unlike the typical Shadow, the Dervish does not require you to worship Esus. In addition, it is stronger, with Fire damage rather than poison and the potential for vast strength gain through a Sun mana affinity. In exchange for this power, the Dervish is tied to the Desert, unable to become invisible in any other terrain, and must be upgraded from a level 6 Assassin or Champion.

Been tempted to make it attack Assassins/Shadows in the stack first...

I made Shadow be unique to Esus state religion, stealing the Dervish idea from these modmod guys, thus introducing a nice positive anti-synergy with Esus and Malakim.

The Bannor are certainly militaristic and ruthless enough for their Shadows to look like that, anyway.

Didn't steal it from 'The modmod guys' but from just me. :p The art was made for the unit after I had used an older unit model he had made. :goodjob:

Not that I mind if anyone steals it, of course (Would be awesome to see it in FfH, though I doubt that would happen), I just want the credit. :p

The unit is meant as a Defensive assassin, by the way... With other changes I made the Malakim should always have desert, so it will be invisible within their borders but generally visible outside of that. Going to go ahead and make it target assassins first, as well... Wonder if that conflicts with Marksman?

The Shadow looks awesome.
