A Babylon 5 Mod for the Final Frontier Mod

Hello everyone,

At last I have been able to complete the Jashakar, getting the glow/damage to it was a little harder than expected since this ship uses a custom animation. It was to use the FF Carrier animation, however, I have seen that using this animation causes problems with the engine glow (see Olympus), so I made a custom Cruiser animation to use the guns of the carrier/olympus, eventually, all units using the FF Carrier will migrate to this animation. The new B5_Custom_FF_CarrierCruiser animation can be used instead of the FF Carrier/B5_Custom_FF_Carrier one, however, some adjustments on the NIF must also be done to work as it should, so you'll have to wait until those units are updated.

So, here is the Dilgar Jashakar, it has the following features:

  • Poly count: 652
  • Animation: B5_Custom_FF_CarrierCruiser
  • Damage/Gloss/Glow: Yes/Yes/Yes
  • FX extra polys: 28

As you can see from the combat screenshot, I played a little with the scales, so that the end result is different "gauge" weaponry.

My name is rolly and I and my wife started playing Civ IV on our home network. Stumbled upon your B5 mod (as we are loyal fans of it) I simply had to try it.

I was wondering if I could help with writing the in-game text? Version 1.14 is gravy, but the "Insert Plasma text HERE" as a Sid's tip and the character dialogue with the simple convo text is quite lacking. Could I help write any of this?

I'm horrible at coding and don't do any sort of animation, but I can definitely write sci-fi text required to flesh out this mod.

Just to let you know that I'm off town again, however this time because of more unpleasant reasons (work :p) so most likely I'll be resuming work on the mod 'til next weekend :(.

First of all, welcome to the forums :beer: I'm glad you like the mod so far, the current WIP version is waaaay better than 1.14, however as of now it still has those "Insert text here" quotes :lol: It would be great If you could help with those, no need to code anything, just give us the text, we'll do the rest! :D

BTW, I would advise you no to post your e-mail in the open, a private message would be better for that.;)

Hi Rolly, thanks for the support, i've sent you an email, looking forward to seeing what you can add for us. Haven't managed to track down the Narn issue i mentioned before and job hunting is going nowhere fast lol
 
OK, as you are the second person to report the same problem i'll need a bit more info from you. Which site did you download the mod from FileFront or Atomic Gamer?
Have you had any problems installing previous versions of the mod?

I downloaded it from FileFront, it was a 57 mb rar.

This is the first time I try the B5 mod for Civ4.
