ANNOUNCEMENT!

After the chat on this Sunday (Sept. 14), the next chat will be on Saturday, Sept. 20th.

We've been going at a breackneck pace from the start of my term, and I feel it has caused some strains. This pause will allow everyone to take a deep breath and give people the time time to analyze the current situation. A great deal will have changed since the term began. We have built from scratch the most important wonder of the Industrial age, along with Universal Suffrage. Our economy has grown tremendously, even as our workforce has doubled!

We are entering the tail end of the Industrial Age where no new city improvements are researched. We have a window of about 30 turns or so where the improvements available are pretty fixed. It's a great time to plan for the future.

During this pause, I would like for all Governors and Mayors to review the improvements in their lands, and the buildings within their cities. I would like for all Executive Branch members to review the goals of their office - I will be doing the same.

I am planning on conducting a "feedback" session on Wednesday night (Sept. 17, starting around 7:00 CDT, 00:00 GMT) - an open, free-for-all discussion on progress we've made and the discussions that have been raised. If you cannot make it, feel free to PM your comments to me, or post them here.

Thanks!

Actually, with the lack of activity in the Citizen's Forum, we may want to consider halting Sunday's chat. ;)

Just kidding, of course. We should at least get those trades in place.

DZ - I was getting REALLY close to cancelling the chat.

As it is, barring instructions from Trade, NO trades shall be completed in this upcoming turn chat. I'm not happy with the lack of discussion from various departments, the last-minute instructions limiting such discussion. That's not condusive to a well planned, and enjoyable experience.

We've no got a discussion started for DG4. Guess what - that's at least 2 months away, probably closer to 3. Just a we bit premature folks.

Elected officials - do your jobs. Do them in a timely manner and do them with the participation of the citizens of Fanatica.

I don't think we should shoot ourselves in the foot due to lack of participation. When such a thing happens(and I am guilty for this set of turns as well), it is up to the President to make the call. I would back up whatever decision you have made.

We may want to consider a shorter turnchat however, so that you "feedback" session can incorporate our current situation.

As far as the trade goes, with a lack of guidance by the Trade Leader, you can make the decision as far as trades go. You don't have to make no trades because Fionn didn't show up for the chat instruction thread.

dont make it my fault for the trades not being there. I do have other obligations aside from this game. I ran for this position believing i could do trades right off the bat but could not because we were too cautious and didnt want to lose a wonder which i doubt would've happened anyways. Do not blame me. Shoot i dont even have a deputy to take over if i cannot make it to the chats which i dont go to. This is the final 2 weeks of my term at school and they tend to like to pile on the harder homework.

Citizens of Fanatica!

The irc chat session for this pause has been scheduled. The official thread is located here.

We've got a lot to talk about, and I will be keeping the discussion to the agenda. Please post all requests to the official thread. Please keep all discussions to this thread.

Thanks!

While I am a newbie to Fanatica I would gladly take a chance at being Deputy Trade Advisor just in case our TA can't make it. I am suprisingly not getting tons of HW from my Professors so I can certainly be up to date with things (not saying our TA isn't). The only problem is some one would have to brief me on the turn chats.
