A New Dawn on Earth and the Space Adventure II

I've been trying to play the game as fast as I can...

I know about that, Alvarez! You are one of the most dedicated players in all the site!

As well as many others.

It is realy hard to conciliate study, work, family, children (in your and Nighthawk's case), gaming, and the other aspects of our lives.

Actually, a pbem game is slow by nature. But after the problem with the pbem tracker site, we lost our most efficient tool of game.

AMERICAN ODYSSEY CHRONICLES - 4565 BC

The Year is 4565 BC. The life is going very well for my people! We have good reserves of food and materials provided by our farm of rice and camp of ivory.

Washington has now 3 million people. I decided in the last few years detach a great group of settlers to found a new city, expanding our empire. The selection of the fortunate pioneers was made by subjective and objective criteria. I determined the formation of a commission composed by my most loyal and compromised advisers. The men was chosen after evaluated about their age, strength, entrepreneurial skills and the courage to face a new world with all the new challenges.

Their families were sent together. Everyone was excited with the possibilities of a new life in a new place. The walking was long and exhaustive, but everything went well.

Arriving at the littoral, the chosen place was in the proximities of the Bay of Stone. There the settlers have fixed the camps and in a few days started the construction of the new city, concluded around 4705 BC.

The new city was named New York, in honor of the original region of the most settlers.

That was a good choice. The knowledges about masonry are advanced and, once dominated the techniques, we will can start the work on the stones at southwest of the city.

The American people are progressing!

I, Phylhom, leader of American People, close this historic registry.

Washington, 4565 BC.

Washington has now 3 million people.

Wait a minute... 3 million people? In one city? In 4.000 BC? Yeah I gotta see some proof for that.

Hi guys, just in case you haven't noticed, we've opened a new Multiplayer subforum in Rise of Mankind: A New Dawn forum.
http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=550
It's dedicated to RAND latest version. The latest revision comes with an installer and it's pretty stable even in Direct IP and Simultaneous Turns games. There have been many changes/fixes/balancing since 1.75C and it's still being improved although there will probably be no more features added. If you wish to have a look, you are welcome to that part of the forum.

Edit: just as a tiny example, no more unrealistic multimillion people cities in 4000BC. [emoji6]

Save sent to Alvarez.

Well, I never understood the system of calculation of the game. The game shows me the number 3 for Washington, so, I said 3 million people.:D But, actually, the inside city screen shows me 21000 people. Now I am curious, do you know how the game calculates this numbers?

Hi, 45°38'N-13°47'E! Welcome to our thread! I already know about the project. Actually, I am one of the mod translators for the Brazilian Portuguese language, and I am following the threads about the development of the mod. It is simply awesome! Congratulations for the great job you are doing there!

Well, thanks for the translation then. :)
About population, it's coded inside the dll, each city size translates into population (which is shown inside the city screen).

Hi,

I've got the save.
But I'm afraid, I don't have a working version of Civ to play it on.

Yeah, I created a new leader in the XML, whihc worked for hte day.

I've deleted / reinstalled already. Didn't work. Got a GRaphics DRiver error. But going to try again on weekend. And get ROM installed again. Let you know how it goes ....

Guys, please, let's continue to send the saves to pbem tracker. It makes it easier to follow the turns.

I forgot to do it last time. Sorry...

[edit:]

Or so I thought... Actually tracker isn't updating game info even after it gives me a "message succesfully sent" when I upload the file...

[edit again:]

Now I've checked it again and it turns out tracker is on year 4425BC, while the last turn I played and sent on was on 4460BC, so that's why it isn't updating. I didn't get the file on the first place.
