Help the computer civs? Ha! I always encourge war between the other civs. Let them destroy each other!

I love building, large, prosperous and happy empires. Great cities with lots and lots of peaceful and content people. And me as their undoubted ruler. I don't like wars but I'm leathal if you should get in to one with me. Beware!

i often give smaller ai's a humongous leap technologically and monetarilly if they are way behind, to get other pesky civs off my back. i of course have them declare war too

nah, always encourage wars between comps, coz then when they are both at each others throats, you can secretlly, build up a army, and wipe one of them out. then get a war between the other, and a new fella, then wipe out the new fella, and continue like that, so the oldfella is real wasted at the end of it, and you can just nuke him anyway.

War kills scenario. When I played the "Somewhere in Time" scenario, the Asians and Moslems kept nuking each other's cities! I built a solid wall of fanatics, touching side to side (I was allied w/ both, and they have no respect for territory!), blocked all subs and helicopters going around the world, (By the way, you can recharge a helicopter in midflight so it'll go on forever without crashing), and they still nuked each other!!!
Peace is tough, but it was worth it.

Whoever doesn't like war Can ALL die a serious Nuclear DEATH!Peace is for wussies.I always say when you get enough power,Destroy the world.Be a Backstabber.Make alliances and use your allies to destroy the other civs, then destroy your Allies.Never give Your Allies or other civs any valuable and dangerous tech. Then when you get them,Nuke Everything!

Hrm, I don't really play like this, but I do try to help the underdog, I also try to cut down the winning Civ with many enemies so that he isn't as hard when its just me and him (I suck BTW).

"Peace, what is peace? There can be no true peace in the game b/c of the way the AI was designed. That is why the computer must die!" - In a game I was playing recently, I was allied with the winning Civ, at the end, it was only me and him, he didnt ask for war, or even make demands, he was happy to let me be.

However, he had a city bult next to my best city (my first city, my capital, it had every single improvement and most of the wonders) somehow he had managed to get control of one of my farms (I had made the farms way before he managed to sneak into my mainland), I thought "I'll just pillage it, then he will use another square, then I'll use the square and build it back up" then Civ 2 tells me I'm not allowed to ruin the square I myself built up. Argh! Why don't allies respect each others land control boundries!

I was so angry, I broke alliance, broke peace by nuking him, and then he came and asked for peace again, even though he was winning by miles. It was Japan BTW.

I really can not stand the AI. Every time I talk to them its give us this or we will crush you. They do this even if they only have 1 town left. You would think they would learn to be civil when they are about to be crushed but NO! Its like they are trying to invite me to wipe them out. I really hate the AI!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excactly! When the AI only has one city left surrounded by legions, I send an emmissary and demand cash
biggrin.gif
, they say "Our patience is exhasted, our army is mobilized for WAR!".
Note: their civilization has no units left, and their only city is starving because my units are occupying their countryside.

My way of playing is controlling the smaller, weaker civilizations. I use them as a source of money. Sure, I let them spread and prosper, but once they get past, say 200 gold, I demand tribute. They immediately give me almost all their money.

Quote: "Wow, the spanish have over 250 dollars!"
I demand tribute.
"We give you a gift of 250 dollars to your magnificence."

I do this to all the weaker civilizations, and i gain about an extra 100 gold per turn. Sometimes they declare war, but they're not enraged, only reserved. I just wait a few turns, let them cool down, and send an emissary. They offer all their gold and knowledge for a ceasefire. I sign the ceasefire, but not a treaty. A couple of turns later, they offer all their gold and money for a treaty. I agree. Then I start demanding money all over again, and the cycle starts all over again. I am soooo cruel.
