A question (BNW) about the tech tree from a new player

Hi all,

I've been playing BNW for a few days now as a new ish player and while looking at the tech tree I noticed I clicked a tech that I think I'd missed and then some number appeared next to it. The tech I had highlighted said 1 and the next tech along said 2 then 3 etc. Is this like an auto research thing? Like a queue for the research?

I did a search but couldn't find much information on this.

That's a research queue. 1 or 2 is next, and then 3 and 4.. etc.

This is particularly useful when you are nearing the end of a Research Agreement or intend to bulb some Great Scientists, where you might get more than one tech finishing on a turn. Use shift-click to create a custom queue - click on a tech, then shift-click on the next, etc.
