Why did the dems vote for the war? Because they are representatives. The majority of voters in a lot of their districts wanted to go to war in 2003. So they did their job. That doesn't mean they supported it necessarily. But they did their job.
Almost, if not all, of Bush's "mistatements" about Iraq and 9/11 are unprovable as direct lies. At the very least, though, they used the evidence that they wanted concerning WMD's and Al Qaeda/Iraq ties, weighting it higher than any contradictory evidence that turned out to be factual. They wanted the war and sold it. Sold it very impressively too.
Bush and his administration are no dummies, he just acted the part to make him seem "one of us".
If you think that Bush and his administration is honest, more power to you. But it doesn't take an large leap of faith to question the integrity of them.
Oh and not to go off topic, but whoever said they attacked because of proximity of the worker was probably right. I've had a few of those events where the stack of archers went off somewhere as most barbs do.
