The USA and proud of it!
John Wayne.

Just thinking of the name and you picture cowboys, tough guys, the streotypical American male.

Yes, this was John Wayne. The All-American, unabashedly patriotic actor that would land a starring role in over 60 movies.

Mr. Wayne was a football star in high school in Southern Califnornia, and soon after launched his acting career.

Wayne, considered by many to be one the great actors of all-time, was unusual because he, unlike so many actors of the past and present, did not cower behind anti-Americanism even when it reared its most ugly form in the 60s with the riots and violence, but instead took strong Pro-American positions.

Wayne was active when Communists and Reds attempted to take over Hollywood for the interests not of the US, but of the Soviet Union. Wayne refused to allow this and actively cooperated with the government to make sure this did not happen.

John Wayne loved his country. He was a patriot. And in the films he showed it. When you watch a John Wayne film, don't expect the typical political correctness and multicultural nonsense you see nowadays.

Expect reality. Expect tough guys showing how life was really all about.

Expect one of the great, and perhaps last, true All-American tough guys performing at the very top of his craft.

John Wayne, even today, is a reminder of the good old days.

When men were men. And patriotism was something to be proud of.

Troll DLs are so boring.

A minor detail this summary glosses over is that John Wayne didn't find it necessary to be drafted for the Army. That's patriotism for ya ;)

I don't know what to say about this, except that there are 281,550,000 Americans, and 6,000,000,000 people on the world.
So who the **** are you?

And to Mr JohnWayneUSA personally:
Stop trolling. This is not an American board.

John Wayne was:

- a coward for avoiding the draft
- a moral cretin for making war movies to get others to die for him
- an even greater moral cretin for glorifying the genocide of the plain indians in dozens of westerns
- an even more limited actor than Sylvester Stallone
- and laked backbone to step out of the closet.

If handed one, I wouldn't accept a picture of him to wipe my backside. :vomit:

Funny quote from John Wayne:

In 1974, JW was asked if President Nixon had ever given him any advice about acting in movies. Wayne replied:

"No, they've all been successful."

A not-so-funny quote from Mr. Wayne:

"I don't feel we did wrong in taking this great country away from them. There were great numbers of people who needed new land, and the Indians were selfishly trying to keep it for themselves."

And what was his real name? ;)
btw you still havent put that T back in your title JW.

"Marion" something. It's easy to be tough when you can pick your own name! When I start MY movie career, I'm changing my name to "Lance Bigbone."

I preffer talking about future Lance Bigbone's carrer than a bad actor being a perfec coward

somebody actually came in here and wrote a biography of John Wayne?????

And I thought I was boring :p

one small thing in jw favor, he was in his 40's during ww2 so he couldn't enlist
