A strange and disturbing situation....

Well....its kind of weird I must say, an I question it.

Basically two people at my school were expelled. For having gay sex in the hostel. Now as far as I know it was consensual, and they used protection, now why does the school have a problem with this? Alright they were staying in the hostel fine but does the school really have jurisdiction in these matters? And isn't expelling them going too far? I mean its not as if theres some rule in the hostel handbook "You shall not have gay sex in the hostel".

Personally I'm inclined to believe that the school has overreacted beacuse it was gay sex. Would they have reacted this way if it was straight sex? I think...

Well kids are expelled for doing lesser non-sexual acts in school in the U.S.

Damaging property or beating up kids can get you expelled nowadays. As it should be, kids should be garunteed a safe enviroment in school.

I dont think theres any way the school system could justify itself to parents and court if they allowed students to have sex.

A double standard I think...I mean they allow the hostel to be constantly filled with a thick haze of weed smoke, they allow alchol bottles all over the place, they allow the students to be constaly stoned and drunk, and hide their drugs in their room even though everyone knows where it is. And they all know this and ignore it or give warnings or in the most etreme case a day long suspension.

But oh god forbid that they have consensual safe sex in the hostel they get expelled immediatley. Personally theres something wrong with that picture.

Well not assuming that all sex in school is consentual which i doubt it is, then yes i would think its lesser.

A hostel is a sort of motel. The rooms are extremely small for the purpose of being cheap and for temporary use.
