A Thread to Discuss the Evolution of "Other Games"

I am curious what fills 1-99 since it seems essentially, other than adding a diamond thread icon, and a red band between sticky threads and normal threads.. i cant think of ANYTHING that has been done on the last few years?

...mmhh...new civ title...new moderators...a broken wiki system...server movement...HOF/GOTM server collaps...new spam blocking systems here and in the modiki...yeah, nothing. And that's only the part you see.

Aren't there three admins though? Surely couldn't one do a five minute switch-a-roo of the Other Games category?

Re-arranging forum folders is at worst a 5 minute job....

You can't tell me non of the three admins have not had such a window of opportunity since this issue was raised?

#edit: An is it not worrying that apparently admin time is swamped with merely keeping this ship afloat, you couldn't actually give me any example of progress? Most websites are usually advancing along with the internet as it evolves.. CFC... seems there are just an endless number of holes to be plugged!

##edit: An those are things that have come up, I was meaning, what is actually planned? Or is there a list of 1-99 things currently or expected to break soon? :p

I'm sure we could manage to get it up into the mid-90s or so...

Just curious, does the word "Skwink" appear on that list in any place?

That's 6 things. Also, does the list end at 100 or continue?

Guys, don't take that literally :p ;).

But ontopic: Distributing 4 pages of threads into a bigger subforum is not really a good solution.
Solution:

Throw away all of the threads in the Spores subforum to the trash where it rightfully belong. And then make a new one and place it in the All Other Games subforum.

I think we can all agree that the 4 pages of threads are for the most part a burden and not an asset.

Just "hide" the Spore subforum.. perhaps spend a few more minutes moving the longer threads back into Other Games.. but IIRC, there has only been one thread really posted in within the last few years, and thats one of people still moaning how poor the game is, oh, and it was started in 2008 :p

...mmhh...new civ title...
That was obviously finished quite a while ago.

new moderators...
Also done.

a broken wiki system...
We have a wiki?

It seems like Most of the to do list is "put things that require more than 5 minutes of my time off indefinitely". Maybe the solution is you need another admin or two who are focused on editing forum stuff? Perhaps even a temporary promotion for a couple of mods who can help.

Oh, and what's the problem?

Most of the threads can probably just be archived. A few like share your creatures or whatever can be moved and keep on being used in AoG.

Agreed. It's a graveyard that I wouldn't mind losing.

Very in depth staff discussion is ongoing. Multiple subforums have been created in the last few months.

We have a wiki?

More than one hosted, yes.

You're preaching to the choir. When I said it's 100 on the priority list, firstly I wasn't being literal. I was making the point that it's quite low down. Why I made this point was both because you probably shouldn't really expect anything very soon, and because if you do get something, I hope you're all pretty grateful for it. It does take extra admin time that doesn't simply materialise.

I'm pretty sure there are 5 admins.

Okay, 4, silly me.

As far as I know, there are only three: Padma, ainwood, and Plotinus.

:dubious: how could you leave out the founder and guy who owns the site? :(

Because he left CFC years ago...
