Damn, they must grow a lot of corn in Utah.
Dear oh dear what a piece of utter rubbish, those are union tackles ?
And why the abuse of my culture with the haka Te Kamate , because the All Blacks have the right to use it, a Mormon team believes they play at that level.
American sports teams do not abuse the cultures of native Americans, so why abuse my culture ?
Because Pakeha in NZ have the right to share our culture, it does not give the right to religious types from the USA.

There was no Mormons on Chunak Bair.

1)American teams do indeed abuse the cultures of Native Americans

2)Utah does have a rugby tradition, like it or not

3)There are a lot of immigrants from "your" area here, and that's where a lot of it comes from. Its their culture as much as yours, and if they want to share it who are you to complain about it? America is supposed to be a melting pot of cultures. Your reaction is rather bigoted and ignorant, to say the least.

Because they abuse native American culture it makes it ok to abuse mine ?
Like too many from the USA you believe all Polynesians are the same, we are not.
They are mainly Tongans and Samoans in Utah, they are not Maori, there is a big difference.

Abuse of culture is taking an intimidating dance from another team and transposing it in America.

The cave must really be getting dank now.

To consider that abuse of your culture is ignorance and intolerance of the highest order.

Yes there is. There are also a lot of Maori. There are a lot of everything. Deal with it.

Or stop using anything invented by NASA. I don't like it when you abuse my culture's accomplishments.

Stop using culture developed by NASA, gladly, I will have that damn hip hop banned.
Amusing that Christians would attempt to use challenges that often calls on the god of war Tu.
Old Te Rauparaha was no Christian.
Does that show their ignorance ?

How does that make them ignorant? All I'm seeing is your own intolerance and hypocrisy.

This trailer is almost like parody. Especially the Gridiron tackles and hits.

They talk a great game but I doubt if any have been under a Taranaki ruck with some sod doing the two step on one's ribs.

But the main actor is the cutest little winger I have seen :D

Maybe you can tell me this: Rugby Union is not in any way posh or classist or socially exclusive in NZ is it? Because I have trouble separating Rugby from the private school wankers who love it in this country.

There only copying it because the best team in the world do it and people who only have a small knowledge of rugby might put the two together, you know new zealand didn't invent rugby, are the otago highlanders abusing Scottish culture?
If this movie encourages rugby around the world is it a bad thing?
Also you linked the wrong haka. you linked the new haka the one in the movie is Ka mate.
Whats a worse abuse of culture? a american rugby team preforming it pretty well before their matchs, or a bunch a druken idiots preforming it in pubs in england?

.....................
my searchs of youtube found some funny stuff, inculding this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AKhZP2T-xg&feature=related

I thought this was just an English oddity, it seems to be a world wide tait of Rugby union, in oxford, rugby union is by far the most popular sport amongst the middle classes there.

If one went off that movie one would believe that rugby is played by god fearing, non drinking , types around the world.
Well, it is played by some Muslims :D

I should say yes it is and what are those Utah types doing trying to play our game ;)
No, in NZ rugby is played right across the class system.
But, it was amusing playing on the North Shore of Sydney in the seventies, was not good form to have anything to do with those uncouth League types.
League in NZ is very much a working class game.
It reminds me how League in Australia trumpeted that they had a bloke who was training to be a doctor.
If one got a cut on those hard pre season grounds in Union there would be four or five would be doctors all wanting to have a practice at sewing one up.
Of course the British combined services team were confused when they played our services team in the eighties, the NZ skipper was Buck Shelford who was a senior NCO .

Otago, mate, I would lighten up a bit. At least Otago won the odd game this season. Only North Harbour fans have any right to be bitter and disillusioned. ;)
