I also don't think it's interesting for munits. It's nice for single units when the 3D program renders bigger units.

Another possibility using this would be to have individual components for the camp (a couple tents, a cookfire, etc.) so you can mix and match for some variety between units.
Are you beta testing the Util or is it available for download?Originally posted by Kryten
I have also been testing your utility (), and I have a few suggestions:-
That should be very simple to do...But in addition, would it be possible to have a 'reset' button that automatically restores these default settings?

Rejoice, for I here your plea!
After several request to include a size reduction feature in my SBB, I've done some testing.
First, I've included it in the single unit utility, so people like Kinboat can generate big bitmaps with thier favorite 3D program, and then generate the storyboard with an automatic size reduction (they just have to specify the size of the frame they want)
I can add this.Originally posted by Kryten
I do have two formations for you, if it's not too much trouble.
One is the 'wedge' (very popular with the Goths, Alamanni, and other Germanic tribes, as well as the Vikings). It is 6 figures, 1 in the front, 2 behind him, and 3 in the rear.
I can also add this one. But you may already do it, in 2 step.Originally posted by Kryten
The other formation is the pike & musket one (invented by Gustavus Adolphus and used by the Swedes during the 30 years War as well as during the English Civil War). It is a block of pikemen 2 by 2, but with a musketman on each flank. It would probably be best as a line of 4 with 2 behind them, in the centre.
I plan to have 3 default button : "tight", "normal", "loose". Loose could be used for elephant, normal for cavalry and tight for infantry.Originally posted by Kryten

Clic once again on the radio button just below your current formation will reset the offset. You just have to click on the preview button to reset the previewOriginally posted by Kryten
It's just that after moving the figures about, if you don't like the
look then it is difficult to go back to the begining and start again.
Just a thought.

Also, is it possible with your utility to take an existing user created unit that's a bit off center (e.g. Colonial Musketman), plug it into your utility and render it centered?
They are possible. Just use the offset and make some trials to check if they don't overlap.Originally posted by The Troquelet
For the betatesters; are these formations of 5 or 6 units in nonrectangular positions, ie the triangle, the wedge, the V, even possible??? Are you sure that the units do not overlap outside the square or accidentally hit each other with their weapons?
I plan to add a "rotation" features, so you can say that it the S orientation, you want the S guy to look S, but the N to look N, the E to the East, etc. So applying this rotation to a diamond formation will give a square.Originally posted by The Troquelet
In addition to Napoleonic infantry it was also used by the Scottish [schiltrons!] and by the Spartans, so it's not just a one-era formation.

I really like the new Triangles and Binomesdoes anyone know what units they would be good formations for?
No I can't make one. I'll make 3.Originally posted by computerdude113
Could you make one with 5 units? This would be good for someone like me who wants to make a single unit upgrade to 2 units, than to 3, than to 4, than to 5, than to six, like that.
Thanks
